i recall reading Kareenas numerous interviews about how she and Saif refuse to kiss others onscreen.

Now, she's starred in a lush item number in which, albeit very hot, she is scantily clad as the item of interest of a bunch of random men.

Not trying to ring a moral police bell, but wondering whether a decent choreographed intimate scene is considered less or more controversial than doing a choreographed item number?

You're known by the company you keep. Looks like Arora sisters have a lot of say in Kareena's item numbers and 2 bit roles. I felt second hand embarrassment watching her Mary. Couldn't KJo give her the role of Akshay's wife? He took Jacki for that role and Kareena to do a trashy number. With friends like him...

intimate scenes are hard to watch with a family whereas item numbers can sometimes be fun to watch 😆

Depends on the kind of item number. Some can be really sleazy and awkward to watch.

Was Aaj ki Raat of Don an item song? If yes, I LOVE that item song. I like the other song performed by Lara Dutta in Don 2, too.

About kissing: Indian actors are poor kissers on-screen. So, no point putting do kissing scenes in the movie.
