Fans are going crazy over aamir's films being big hits, and srk and salman should unite to combat aamir etc. etc.

But truth is: Aamir understands the simple logic that content rules. He makes meaningful content-driven films and is a shrew businessman who understands that people don't go for 2.5 hrs just to see a favorite star, though that helps.

In truth, he is not more popular than SRK/salman and even Akki, I feel. He is popular, but not overwhelmingly so. Its just that he understands why films work, and put himself into d picture at the right place and time. That's why his films are such massive hits.

Do you people agree?

I truely believe he brings in casual fans to the theater..with salman and srk they have their fans and they watch their movies.. Aamir movies r for smart fan and the word of mouth brings in all those casual fans who don't watch Hindi movies..

Ans. Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan are the top two stars and that does not really alter after P.K as their huge popularity is unaffected. The lifetime numbers are more about content than star power. Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan will generally get the best initials and they also have more volume of releases over last five years be it Aamir Khan or Hrithik Roshan.

Amir Khan is just a smart guy.

He seems to mind his business for the main part (I DON'T KNOW THOUGH).

I wouldn't say he knows it all though, because he did invest in Dhoom 3 😆

But Amir uses whatever star power he has, his resources (rapport with directors/producers) to bring slightly unique projects to release, which is a great way to go.

I don't think there is anything called a smart fan...lol...but I do agree that Aamir does bring a neutral person to the theaters ...he is the smarter of the three Khans...while these two are still stuck on romancing and masala...Aamir has already moved on to Dad types of roles...long term career like AB Sr.

Q. You have said that Salman Khan is star of the year but Kick was not that good acting by Salman Khan where as Aamir Khan has given award winning performance in P.K. so he should be top star of 2014?

Ans. Its not about award winning performances thats all subjective and about opinions. There will be 100 of award ceremonies and each will give according to their opinion. From a box office point of view Salman Khan did more for Kick than what Aamir Khan did for P.K.

Aamir's formula = take one big message or moral of the story you want to teach. Tell it through a simple story with lots of good (not crass) comedy and just the right amount manipulative emotions to pull at the heartstrings without letting the audience know they are being manipulated. And if possible, show up naked or topless on screen at least once and definitely act as a naive 12 year old in a midget mans steriod body. Then rake in the moolah.
