SRK, Deepika, Kangana, Vidya, Akshay, Priyanka, Katrina, Amitabh Bachchan, abs many many more are all outsiders. It's not true that audience doesn't give them love.

But to make it big you have to have something.

Sid looks definetely better than Varun but it ends there. Varun is almost a complete package.

His acting is highly over rated and over hyped. He went from a MTH and HSKD to Badlapur, and that too with a director like Sriram so yes that will show improvement. Yes he did better than before. Sid is trying different types of roles and is trying not to pigeonhole himself. His characters in SOTY, HTP and Ek Villain were significantly different from each other and you saw those differences in how he portrayed them. Sometimes subtlety goes a lot further than being high energy, loud and jumpy. He's tall and very good looking and has an amazing voice. He needs to work on his awkwardness with interviews and flow of his speech. He gets flustered and says "so yea ..." a lot. He's very new so yes there is always room for improvement. But he's doing great. His Brothers character is again very different than the last three he's played.

And one cannot argue that Sid got everything handed to him by KJo but then claim that Varun got everything on merit. Being David Dhawan's son has helped him a lot, especially when it comes to Dhawan Sr.'s friendship with Salman Khan.

Varun's acting ability is not overrated. He certainly can act., not world class or anything like that but overall he has been decent in his career so far. He was fantastic in Baldpur. Yes, Sriram played a part but a director can do only as much. He went toe to toe with Nawaz and never faltered. Thats very impressive in itself. He manged to outshine Alia in HSKD too.
I agree he looks terrible in ABCD promos though.

Sid hasn't manged to do that in any movie so far. He failed miserably in front of Ritesh in EV and doesn't look good in Brothers teaser as well. One thing though; he has definitely improved since SOTY days and if he carries on to work hard like this; he can become decent.

Regarding dancing;I don't think Varun's dancing abilities are even close to that of Hrithik or even Shahid. The top two are Farhan and Hrithik followed by Shahid.
But he is a very good dancer nonetheless, loads of energy. Best from the new-lot definitely.

Sid has been handed everything to him by Karan. Varun has had too if one follows that logic( movies with Dharma and the his dad). But he has also worked outside those and excelled (Badlapur). When Sid does that this argument will die down as well. I have no problem with this though, it doesn't matter where he works if his work stands out.

I started out rooting for Sid but then turned out totally towards Varun.

You can all go for the Varun is the director's son and has got it all working for him but you can't deny he's got talent. & that go getter attitude which I love! He's totally putting himself out there doing different films, is really ambitious and working outside his mentor's banner too!

While Sid I feel is just slowing down & isn't just giving his best IMO.

Varun's hard work is making me like him. The guy's gonna go good i just feel it & I'm not even a fan.

I agree but in talking about present nowdays there are more starkids than outsiders and I'm not talking only about actors but in every showbiz field.

These days the whole new generation is of star kids but still none of them are impressive ...Varun has completley impressed audience with badlapur and has an amazing line up of movies in future ..Sid on the other hand just doesn't have the it factor in him. He has kinda mellowed down ...Varun is better than Sid anyday in my opinion
