So you can write about the supposed success of actors or actresses here based on the number of movies that they're rumoured or signed on to do with xyz directors, but one movie does better business than their work was expected to or one contemporary gives a more commercially/critically acclaimed performance...and it doesn't matter how many movies you were doing. You're competing with the work released in the industry, not functioning within a vacuum of your own work which is all supposed to turn out amazingly. Kangana stole everyone person's thunder in Bollywood this year with a movie that pretty much no one was anticipating. Everyone else pales in comparison, man or woman.

If we're to talk about Anushka herself in a vacuum though, she is at the best stage of her professional career and personal life since she's come up with pretty solid security in both areas within the last 2 or so years. She's almost worked with everyone she wanted to work with (looks 'over it' in many interviews by how she talks about it) and has her own production house. When she takes up pretty much a cameo role in a movie (DDD) for the heck of it, you can tell she isn't fiending after spotlight or the #1 spot as people like to believe. She's doing work that she wants to, regardless of how meaty it is or not...that's the simplest way to put it. Looks like a good position to be in to me, because it doesn't seem she worries too much about what she's doing...it's just a day of work, not something she's cornering herself into depression for. She's got her name attached to PK's commercial success, NH10's critical success, DDD's 'urban buzz' and came out as one of the 'victims' of BV rather than shouldering much/any(?) responsibility for it...even if ADHM ends up being her last movie in Bollywood, she'll be considered as moderately successful and people will remember her as an actress that could actually act.

Anu is a curious case.. she comes across as (In KWK) that shez not beautiful and i think thats why she she di what she did to her then beautiful face.. only to ruin it. But then she becomes producer of NH10.. even when it was announced i was like 😲 r u serious.. but she did it.

Honestly, I don't know. I really thought this was going to be her year but everything seems to have backfired for her. Personally, I have never seen the spark nor charisma in her that I do in other actresses. Even during BBB days I found her blah. She might be a good actress but she surely is lacking something. And the good actress tag can only get you so far. She ain't doing herself any favors if she is signing supporting roles like DDD and ADHM. I don't think she cares much about BW either...now that she has found Virat. Whatever it is, she is not a superstar like DP, Kat, KKK nor is she a flopstar like Sonam...she seems to be stuck in a limbo.

Aditya is a true blue DICK to have said that to her.

What went wrong with Anushka is not really an intelligent topic... at best its a timepass topic.

No offence to TM or anybody. Its just the ppl who take topic to 150 pages... haha.. IPL matches made me pass 10K posts. But TBH, that forum has hardly any bitchiness.. just love for Cricket and even when ur fav team lose, they congratulate the other side. Its called sports.

I don't care how successful DDLJ or his other successful films were. Why can't our filmmakers respect the fact that there are different people who look differently? Why don't they get that different things CLICK with different people?

LOTS of people think Anuksha is gorgeous, right from her debut. I had guy friends who were more or less plain crushing even before RNBDJ released.

Kajol was in DDLJ, she wouldn't be called the most beautiful women in the world by some people- still didn't stop her from helping DDLJ become an extremely successful film, nor did that stop her from people admiring her for her performance AND for her looks.

Honestly, f**k him to drill that into Anushka's head, if that's what actually happened.

I hated that he said it to her! she was so adorable and lovely even when she started! She looked stunning in her own way..
And she was just 18yrs old when she was found by him, she did the movie when she was 19.. and that is very young..and that leaves a pretty deep impression on a mind so young with absolutely no other industry connection.
its good she has gotten things sorted and back on track now.. both personal life and professionally too..
