OMG 😆 This particular episode should be renamed as BLATANTLY LYING WITH AMITABH BACHAN 😉
I dont really like Arnab for his loud, rude and high-handed attitude but in this interview he was so polite and calm but still put Amitabh to shame with the right kind of questions.
AB Sr totally chickened out and like somebody said his body language gave it all away. I liked how Arnab compared Sweta basu case with Salman's. And how could he even claim Salman is family when the whole world knows Salman abused his dil. Pathetic 🤢 He is no better than Salman.

Always OTT or wrong in terms of showing practices.

AB films used to pretend Sikhs didn't exist. Always Amar Akbar Anthony, John Jani Janardhan blah blah. But no Sikhs.

I admire Sunny for doing a credible role in Border (not Gadar though).

Lately things have improved a bit. But earlier it was horrible!

I meant like this scene at 1:15
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Po-ruWWg4kM

or say Anupam Kher's character in Mohabettein!

It camouflaged through comedy but the degradation and discrimination is essentially there. Its not like its only done in a few films. it is done in many. The depiction of Sikh is normally shown to be dumb, OTT, and clown like very often do you see a Sikh to be shown as sensible or sincere. It is quite similar to the way African American were once degraded in hollywood films here in the west due to discrimination.

Your Sunny Doel's character in Border was one of the more genuine portrayals of a Sikh to be someone honorable. No comments about Gadar.

@ atominis,
U dont have to be to so personal. I am Namo supporter yes.. but I will bash him right left n centre if he dont perform as a PM. In fact, salman is free coz of his hand on salman's head. I m never a blind supporter of anybody, not even my father.

I have been vocal abt how pathetic AB sounded in that IV with Arnab.. what else do u want from me? Kill AB like Indira's bodyguards unleashed 100s of bullets in her body?

What happened in 84.. I was 4 years old... no idea what was going on.. coz Gujarat wasnt affected. I learnt everything lateron.. and from my dad.

Amitabh wasnt even in the picture, what happened to Bhinderwal's own Khalistan, suppy of arms from Pakistan and China, heavy hand approach by Indira, operation Blue star, Golden temple, blood bath.. and Indira's assassination, and the riots followed by it.

I take ur words that Amitabh said on national tv, khoon ka badla khoon. and yes, if its true i have lost any respect for AB that i had.

I asked my dad, he cant rem any of it. Indira's killing was so big.. nothing else mattered.

I never put an individual above national interest. As its is, my Punjabi friends r happy that Punjab is in India and they know Bhinderwal was puppet of pakistan and China.

The Akshardham Attack was a terror attack at the Akshardham Temple in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on 24 September 2002[2][3] conducted by Murtuza Hafiz Yasin and Ashraf Ali Mohammed Farooq. They killed 33 people and wounded 80 others by using automatic weapons and hand grenades.[4] National Security Guards intervened and ended the siege by killing both attackers the same night. Six accused were later arrested by Gujarat Police.

Gujjus r first Indians and then Gujjus. What happened in Godhra.. and what followed was human nature. Gujarat now is one of safest places in India.

I wud like to see if bachchan actually said on national tv.. khoon ka badla khoon, coz my dad had no recollection of it.

And atominis, stay away from personal attack just coz I m Namo supporter, I m not a monster.. 90% of India voted for him, and I cant vote coz I m an NRI.

They tampered big time with media and records.

Sikhs all over were targetted. Not just in Delhi.

My dad was in Jaipur. He had never been to Punjab actually. But mobs tried to attack him also. But someone saved his life and helped him escape. He left his prestigious job in Indian railways at once in fear and came to Punjab where he had to start from a scratch all over again.

Another person I know had a thriving business in Mumbai. But after this Khoon ka badla khoon call mobs had started attacking Sikhs everywhere. That man had to give up everything and go to Punjab. He lost everything. Still lives in penury and merely runs a thela selling fruits.

Fake encounters, disappearances, rapes, burnings, all gross human rights violations happened. Sikhs faced discrimination in jobs also. They were branded as traitors. They were generalised. All thanks to Congress butchers.

I know a lady who is professor working in a prominent university. Totally simple, normal family, but her brother also disappeared in 1984. Till date they don't know if he is dead or alive.

Gurudwaras everywhere were attacked. Not just Amritsar.

People call this bloodbath and prejudice against a whole community as strong decision? Or ask us to forget it?

Or bark we deserved it?

They think they manipulated records. Sorry but you can't take away people's own experience from them! You can fool others but not ones who have been through it.

They stereotype, generalise, terrorise an entire community for acts of few?

SPIT on Amitabh Bachchan for being a part of this machinery! Damned vampire calling for blood!
😡

And SHAME on them for trying to rationalise it in name of patriotism!

Finally, I don't think justice can be done. They just use these issues. But never give justice. Butchers roam free!

I hope there is a Higher Court Above All where justice is served. These are times when I really wish God was there and law of karma was indeed real.

Feel so helpless and frustrated as an ordinary person.

@AllBlacks

Yeah sure.

You only remember that devil's killing but not her follies and killings of thousands of other innocents.

Calling aftermath of Godhra as natural human reaction, saying your dad does not remember etc.

Wow. 😆

Who would care or remember if not affected?

90% India voted for NaMo?

It does not mean anything. Nor hides how many are against him.

The 1984 anti-Sikh riots or the 1984 Sikh Massacre or the 1984 genocide of Sikhs were a series ofpogroms[2][3][4][5][6] directed against Sikhs in India, by anti-Sikh mobs, most notably by members of the Congress party, in response to the assassination of Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards. There were about 2800 deaths all over India, including 2100 in Delhi.[7] [4] The Central Bureau of Investigation, the main Indian investigating agency, is of the opinion that the acts of violence were organized with the support from the then Delhi police and some central government officials.[8] Rajiv Gandhi was sworn in as Prime Minister after his mother's death and, when asked about the riots, said "when a big tree falls, the earth shakes".[9]

During the Indian Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi in the 1975-1977, thousands of Sikhs campaigning forautonomous government were imprisoned.[citation needed] The sporadic violence continued as a result of an armed Sikh separatist group which was designated as a terrorist entity by the Indian government. In June 1984, during Operation Blue Star, Indira Gandhi ordered the Indian Army to attack the Golden Temple and eliminate any insurgents, as it had been occupied by Sikh separatists who were stockpiling weapons. Later operations by Indian paramilitary forces were initiated to clear the separatists from the countryside of Punjab state.[10]

The violence in Delhi was triggered by the assassination of Indira Gandhi, India's prime minister, on 31 October 1984, by two of her Sikh bodyguards in response to her actions authorising the military operation. The Indian government reported 2,700 deaths in the ensuing chaos. In the aftermath of the riots, the Indian government reported 20,000 had fled the city, however the People's Union for Civil Liberties reported "at least" 1,000displaced persons.[11] The most affected regions were the Sikh neighbourhoods in Delhi. Human rights organisations and newspapers across India believe the massacre was organised.[4][8][12] The collusion of political officials in the massacres and the Judiciary's failure to penalise the killers alienated normal Sikhs and increased support for the Khalistan movement.[13] The Akal Takht, the governing religious body of Sikhism, considers the killings to be a genocide.[14]
