Judging actor whose job is to act based on BO numbers and stardom. Calling them entertainers and what not to come up with excuses and defend the lack of acting ability.

The best bit is how some go about claiming the people don't know or wont remember who was a great actor. But they will remember who gave 10 blockbusters.😆 When in reality it is nothing like that.

You should know Indian audience better. Telling you from personal experience of watching a film in theatre. People hoot even when heroine's dupatta or pallu flies. It's still a pretty repressed country. Even in clean films they find something to hoot at.

And yeah, girls hoot and whistle like crazy when a hero takes off his shirt. I witnessed it during Ghajini!

Guess directors know more.

I've watched the exact same Bollywood as you have, and I've watched movies in theaters too.

Ghajini is 2008, mind you. That's 7 years ago! Kids turn from babies into second graders (or year 2, to appease you), in that time. Mentalities change!

Kisses WERE definitely a big deal back when they were new. That's why Emraan Hashmi got to have a title about it (which is the most loserish thing in the world, but no matter, he needs something to gloat about)

No every lallu-panju knows how to pucker up and insert le tongue into another's le mouth. It's done by every debutant, every old and seasoned person, every B-grade, every A-grade, every C-grade.

NOT every kiss is used as promotional tactic! I didn't get to see any of Jab We Met's or Humpty Sharma kisses in the promos. I didn't get to see Shudh Desi Romance kisses in promos.

So yes, directors know better than me, silly "overseas all-knowing person", but I think everyone can see that kisses are more closely becoming a norm in Hindi movies now.

Aside from the holy Salman Khan, I can't think of many mainstreamers (OR non-mainstreamers) who haven't kissed in a movie, and whether that kiss has definitely been used as a promotional tactic or not.

Be happy that I just mentioned hits of Salman's 1st 7 years only. If I mentioned hits of entire career you would have to go back to "oh he is a newcomer, give him time" excuses.

Superstars have proven consistency and big hits. This is why this term was first coined.

Though fans can abuse this term as much as they like. 😆

100 years from now Khans will still be written as the reigning stars of these decades.
