I loved KNPH, but I sat through Fiza, Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, Mujhse Dosti Karoge. For most of these movies there was NO audience in the theater. I watched them all in the theater.

He had his share of flops, and he struggled quite a bit too. He was considered finished, but he bounced back.

The bounce back was Koi mil gaya. His father kinda re-launched him. Now, would we call that shoving down star-kids our throat? 😉 No right. coz he is the HR.

He might have proved himself after KMG.. but there was time it was being said of him that he only acts in his father's films.

AB Sr. did not launch, re-launch Abhi. Well, blame him or not is another discussion. But Abhi is not as bad an actor as he is made out here.

Ha!

AB Sr was hyping Abhishek since late 90s.

AB Sr did not make a film but he got filmmakers to sign his son. Often came in package deal hence those films together.

Making KMG in which son is good and which genuinely did well is not shoving down star kid down our throats.

Shoving down means pushing a rejected guy again and again. Not reviving a well liked guy the way HR was in KNPH, K3G.

No amount of shoving down yields year's biggest hit unless the guy is liked by audience!

Total hypocrisy to declare HR finished and in need of relaunching but ignoring Abhishek's countless crap and flop films.

I realize he doesn't have the best career, but must we demean him just b/c he happens to be a caring, loving husband. I mean he knows his wife is more successful, hears it all the time and yet support her. Let's her have the limelight and is there for. He still loves her and encourages her--I see nothing wrong with a man like that. He doesn't let ego get in the way.
As for his future, he's probs gonna keep doing ensemble movies and he should do more rom-coms and comedy b/c he excels in that. People may make fun of him but he walked away with a lot of the critical acclaim if there was any for HNY. Nearly everyone remembered Nando and his comic timing. He has that going for him. He had so much momentum post-Guru but couldn't keep going. He's a pretty good actor if given the right script and right direction.

@bold - yes we do. Coz being known as someone's husband is seen as the thing to mock. And we talk about equality. So to be known as someone's wife is achievement but for the opposite, let's make fun of the guy. 😛

Why drag Hrithik all the time in AB Jr topics?

If such lame excuses will be made for him and his family's manipulation to keep plugging him again and again will be ignored or someone genuinely successful will be mocked then such replies are a given.

It is a fact he is listless and lacks the X factor to make it.

Even as an actor he is no Sanjeev Kumar that his capabilities are so amplified.

It is fact he has been shoved down people's throats and survives only due to family.

Even got undeserving projects just due to family.

And despite chances also he did nothing of note.

His family has no shame and will glorify him in tweets, without even mentioning the Khans and Devgans who actually drew audience for those lone successes AB Jr had!

He deserves what he gets!

Is it so hard to understand?

I pointed out about flops and relaunching.

You can dislike him.

But at least drop this hypocrisy, changing criteria at will while judging both guys!

Reminds of when Tina Fey and Amy Pohler made fun of George b/c everyone kept saying George's wife, Amal. But when they listed her accomplishments it should really be Amal's husband, george. 😆

I agree. It should be seen with pride, not some henpecked man just b/c the wife is more successful.

Being good in 1 or 2 films is not enough.

Vivek is superb in Company and Saathiya. Hrithik's own father was good in comedy roles in Aap ke deewane and Kaamchor. But never seen those guys get hyped and propped up the way Abhishek does! Never seen people blaming everyone else to excuse these people for their failures.

This forum has bashed even AB Sr for Abhishek's failure. Conveniently forgetting that it is only due to him that he is surviving.

Of course the Hrithik complex never went away. Old wounds still hurt. 😆
