There are way too many gems in the dialogues of almost every character that this movie has to be rewatched a minimum 2-3 more times again just to keep count of every moment you loved...which kinda ends up being the whole movie too...lol
Forgot to mention some of my particular fav scenes:
1) The Sun Sahiba opening scene of Tanu and Manu's marriage...like insane how bang on Rai's detailing is of middle class/small town India...I swear you feel like these are scenes out of your own life or people you've met...I died laughing over the wedding video bit of Manu's hands superimposed on Tanu's mehendi...one of the things most annoying about cheesy wedding tamashas.
2) The opening Tanu-Manu fight in the asylum...like the dialogues are INSANELY awesome in that and SO realistically written in terms of how skewed perceptions can become b/w a husband-wife in the middle of a fight...lol and add to that a psycho like Tanu on one end claiming that he tricked her into marrying him and it all gets next level...hahaha
3) Datto wins the movie in every scene she appears in but I have two particular favs...no actually three
a) The boating scene when she starts singing 'Old School Girl"...the guileless charm of this character without being the typical goody two shoes sati savitri "sweet" girl caricature was just so adorable...and the montage of scenes in the Old school girl song were lovely too...especially the bits where we see Datto accepting those earrings from him, putting them on, her panic on losing them during a practice session and finally her decision to return them to him.
b) The scene when she returns the earrings to Manu...such fantastic dialogues...and the sprinkling in of the humor with the "aap bhi second hand ho" line...lol...the matter of fact way in which she talks about how this isn't going anywhere so better to end it...and her tears in the rickshaw showing what a soft heart beats beneath the rough and tough matter of fact exterior.
c) The climax bit right after she tells Tanu to foot the bill for the wedding, walks off and just barely makes it to the room before she breaks down completely...such BRILLIANCE from Kangana, I really can't stop repeating that.
Oh wait, one more...LOVE how she confronts Tanu...truly no one must have cut Tanu to size like Datto did in that scene...lol even though she clearly was a bit nervous and intimidated by Tanu's personality and bitchy put downs too but her comebacks won in their matter of factness and for the first time Tanu got shown a mirror by her mirror image...lol
And EVERYTHING Pappi ji...the conference, "Your questions hurt me" scene or the way he constantly adjusts his predictions based on the situations...especially when he fears being beaten up by Datto...hahaha
And the "Woh dekh KABOOTAR" ending of the film so bang on! lol...Datto fed up of that guy's blabbering deciding to take matters into her own hands.
Truly Datto deserves her own movie without a doubt...lol
Oh waise I will amend my point a bit and say that Zeeshan was kinda the only character that I felt a little wasted in the film...he was so much more entertaining in Raanjhanaa...but in this movie, Pappi ji had his part and there wasn't really much for Zeeshan to do other than be a chipku and chep...lol
