I really wanted the video to go on for little more time.😆 I also liked how Rai showed Manu's drunk dad flirting with Tanu's mom by putting in a gulab jamun in her mouth😆

that was epic...even he pulled tanu's mom to dance...manu's mom pulls him back...gosh that was crazy😆...

i just love Rai's attempt of making scenes real...thats the craziness happens in real marriage...😆

twmr was very entertaining
the one liners were hilarious, i was so bummed i sometimes had to read the subtitles.
Pappy was the most entertaining and had the best lines. I could watch a sequel with pappi, mr awasthi and the rampur ka waqeel any day.
kangana looked beautiful, she hadn't in the first movie because of her weird lips, thanks goodness she stopped with that.
datto was so sweet. felt really bad for her in the second half, that's the part of the movie I didn't understand, if manu was so disinterested in tanu why run after a lookalike baccha, i didn't understand his besottedness right after coming out of a paagal khana. the plot was very contrived. but the dialogues hilarious
madhavan had the worst role, but he really did well, because if there is no chemistry between tanu and manu and manu and dhatto and manu and pappi, the movie doesn't work
very entertaining.

There are way too many gems in the dialogues of almost every character that this movie has to be rewatched a minimum 2-3 more times again just to keep count of every moment you loved...which kinda ends up being the whole movie too...lol

Forgot to mention some of my particular fav scenes:

1) The Sun Sahiba opening scene of Tanu and Manu's marriage...like insane how bang on Rai's detailing is of middle class/small town India...I swear you feel like these are scenes out of your own life or people you've met...I died laughing over the wedding video bit of Manu's hands superimposed on Tanu's mehendi...one of the things most annoying about cheesy wedding tamashas.

2) The opening Tanu-Manu fight in the asylum...like the dialogues are INSANELY awesome in that and SO realistically written in terms of how skewed perceptions can become b/w a husband-wife in the middle of a fight...lol and add to that a psycho like Tanu on one end claiming that he tricked her into marrying him and it all gets next level...hahaha

3) Datto wins the movie in every scene she appears in but I have two particular favs...no actually three

a) The boating scene when she starts singing 'Old School Girl"...the guileless charm of this character without being the typical goody two shoes sati savitri "sweet" girl caricature was just so adorable...and the montage of scenes in the Old school girl song were lovely too...especially the bits where we see Datto accepting those earrings from him, putting them on, her panic on losing them during a practice session and finally her decision to return them to him.

b) The scene when she returns the earrings to Manu...such fantastic dialogues...and the sprinkling in of the humor with the "aap bhi second hand ho" line...lol...the matter of fact way in which she talks about how this isn't going anywhere so better to end it...and her tears in the rickshaw showing what a soft heart beats beneath the rough and tough matter of fact exterior.

c) The climax bit right after she tells Tanu to foot the bill for the wedding, walks off and just barely makes it to the room before she breaks down completely...such BRILLIANCE from Kangana, I really can't stop repeating that.

Oh wait, one more...LOVE how she confronts Tanu...truly no one must have cut Tanu to size like Datto did in that scene...lol even though she clearly was a bit nervous and intimidated by Tanu's personality and bitchy put downs too but her comebacks won in their matter of factness and for the first time Tanu got shown a mirror by her mirror image...lol

And EVERYTHING Pappi ji...the conference, "Your questions hurt me" scene or the way he constantly adjusts his predictions based on the situations...especially when he fears being beaten up by Datto...hahaha

And the "Woh dekh KABOOTAR" ending of the film so bang on! lol...Datto fed up of that guy's blabbering deciding to take matters into her own hands.

Truly Datto deserves her own movie without a doubt...lol

Oh waise I will amend my point a bit and say that Zeeshan was kinda the only character that I felt a little wasted in the film...he was so much more entertaining in Raanjhanaa...but in this movie, Pappi ji had his part and there wasn't really much for Zeeshan to do other than be a chipku and chep...lol

My Review

There was this scene when a drunk Tanu, after coming to know of Manu's impending marriage to Datto, sees a wig in a shop and wears it. If anyone sees her, he would mistake her for Datto for she now looks an exact replica of her. She goes to Manu, with despair in her eyes, as if her entire world is crashing down and she asks him 'Mere ek baar bhi yaad nahin aaya' to which he says no.

So there is Tanu looking exactly like how Datto looks but Manu isn't deceived and neither were we.Their looks might be similar but their personalities, poles apart. And therein lies the brilliance of Kangana Ranaut and in that very scene, she BOWLED me over.

What an amazing performance👏. Words fail to describe how beautifully she did it. Kangana, if you were wonderful in Queen, you were exemplary in TWMR. Just out of the world. Two characters played by the same actor ?! Unbelievable. As someone said, if a newbie to Bollywood cinema saw this film he/she would never know that Kusum and Tanu were Kangana herself!!

I wasn't a big fan of TWM, it had its moments but this one was phenomenal from the word go. Kudos to the dialogue writer for giving us such memorable scenes😆Special mention to Pappi and his AMAZING one liners 🤣 Deepak has an amazing sense of comic timing and his expressions and the way he phrases them made them all the more hilarious and had the entire theater in splits😆 Due credit goes to Maddy, Jimmy, Swara, Eijaaz (although I wish they had more scenes), Mohammad Zeeshan and the entire cast as well👏

Also before I finish, is it weird if I say that Datto overshadowed Tanu ? For me, she certainly did. One of the most adorable and endearing characters I have ever seen ❤️ The sprinkling of innocence and vulnerability under all her toughness combined with her simplicity makes you want to go and give her a hug <3

5/5 for one of the best sequels I have seen and once again,*STANDING OVATION* to Kangana Ranaut!!! Banno tera SWAGGER lage sexy <3

Oh I forgot to mention this scene but this was one of my favs too and again a display of Kangana's EXEMPLARY talent...not a single dialogue in the scene...just the song and her eyes and body language and it conveys SO much...the moment when she puts on the wig and looks at herself in the mirror...tries to do the buck teeth to look like Datto...In general, Tanu is a character hard to sympathize with for how selfish and arrogant she is...but in that moment, you feel for her...you truly do...that and the way she asks Manu..."Main toh humesha se paagal thi...aap kab badal gaye, Sharma ji?"...shows that underneath all her crazy ways, she did truly love him...and he loved her...it showed in the pain in their eyes in that scene.

Interesting how both Datto and Tanu called him "Sharma ji"...lol Tanu took to calling him "Manu Sharma" in anger later on but she also calls him Sharma ji pyaar se otherwise.

A character like Datto or Rani from Queen is anyways easier to like and sympathize with...the vulnerable girl who is experiencing betrayal or loss...the exteriors may be different but inside they both experienced emotions most girls would identify with.

But Kangana's true genius lies in managing to evoke sympathy for a character like Tanu...she transformed for Datto, no doubt and that was stupendous as well but I think the fact that at the end of the film, I could feel for Tanu when she cried, when she wandered aimlessly drunk in the galis, when she lashed out at a Datto in her own pain and bitterness...amazing stuff...also major kudos to Rai and Himanshu for always depicting layered female characters...especially in Raanjhanaa and now TWMR...women who do not fit the sweet, simple template by any stretch...strong characters who are allowed their flaws and mistakes and still end up earning your admiration despite having traits hard to like.

So true @ArreYaar. Kangana's success lies in the very fact that she made us feel for Tanu, sympathize for her despite all her crazy antics and her nature. That's where Kangana aces it.

There is Datto who wears her heart on her sleeve and then there is Tanu who clearly feels for Manu despite her crazy antics and her rebellious attitude. So on one hand, we are happy for Datto and on the other, feeling terrible for Tanu when we see how shattered she is. As Manu's mom clearly put it, 'hum tho acche side pe hain par kya acche side hain, woh tho maloom nahin' Exactly.

Btw I loved the scenes you mentioned <3 They were all my favorites as well ❤️ I really need to see it once more to get the feel of the dialogues and scenes again!
