Cover up, cover girl! | ||
That might well be Sooraj Barjatya's advice to his Prem Ratan Dhan Payo leading lady, Sonam after risque photoshoot | ||

Sonam Kapoor is every magazine's go-to cover girl. Judging by the cover statistics of the last few years, her cover presence outnumbers that of her contemporaries. However, her new va-va voom avatar on the latest Vogue India cover has put her director Sooraj Barjatya in a really bad mood. The Prem Ratan Dhan Payo director is mighty upset with the glamazon for doing such a daring cover as she plays a shy, demure, doe-eyed desi girl in his film, her next release. He feels it's not the right time for her to be flashing her decolletage to the hilt. According to a source, "Sooraj was quite upset by Sonam's ultra-modern avatar on the cover which borders on risque. In PRDP, the girl she plays is a far cry from the supreme seductress on the latest cover. He feels this sort of image will jeopardise her on-screen persona in his film." Over the years, actresses in Barjatya's films have been the epitome for coy, homely girls, rooted to their culture and family values and who evoke a doe-eyed countenance. Sonam's sexy-as-hell cover negates that persona. The director has relayed it to his leading lady to be more conscious henceforth and keep in mind, the character she is playing in her next release. |
