Non-Indians flock to see his movies here. They know of the name Shahrukh. He's become a huge international icon for many film lovers. I'm not saying that because I'm a fan. But I see it around me constantly. He isn't going anywhere any time soon. The only reason he will fade away is a) scripts stop coming to him, b) God forbid, health comes in the way. Otherwise he's here to stay. :-)

I respectfully disagree with this assessment. Unless people are specifically familiar with Bollywood and are fans of Hindi films then they have no clue who SRK is, or Aishwarya or Amitabh Bachchan for that matter. Yes there are millions of non-Indian Bollywood fans. But these fans are not immune to changing times, changing tastes in films, and actors' growing weaknesses. SRK is not indispensable to outside fans anymore than he is to inside of India fans.

And I respectfully, as well, beg to differ with your statements. You're making a generalization - an assumption. There are also plenty of non-Indians who follow Bollywood just like we Indians do. Names like Shahrukh and Aishwarya are very well known and popular here, at least in America. I don't know how it is in India, but here the craze is evident. That I can assure for. Trust me when I say he won't be fading any time soon unless one of the two reasons mentioned in my previous post.

I live in America too. But I assure you none of my American friends have a clue who any if these people are. The average American citizen who is not of Indo-Pak or Middle Eastern background doesn't know anything about Bollywood. Maybe Jai Ho because of A.R. Rahman and SDM. But no, they don't know of SRK at all. I acknowledged in my post that a lot of non-Indians are Bollywood fans. But I also don't believe that their tastes in movies and acting will never change. SRK is failing to adapt to the changing times and this will catch up with him, if it hasn't already. Nothing is absolute when it comes to art and taste, and SRK is no exception.

Well I guess we are surrounded by a different flock of people. Well, I guess only the future will tell who's right and who's wrong. :-)

I think you might be missing the point.

For that whole immense star power thing: You also might be referring to your desi community, cause no mainstream American I know knows who SRK is. They might know Dev Patel from those Marigold movies, Aziz Ansari, and Aasif Mandhvi. SRK? no way.

Frankly, just because he's the biggest "international" BW in your eyes star seems so short-sighted. I'm from the west too, and at the end of the day even I understand that what happens box office wise in India really drives the success of these guys more than anything else.

Comparing all 3 Khans together: Aamir and Salman know what sells for them and they deliver. They see the real numbers, the real opinions of the audience, and if things don't work out (Talaash, Jai Ho), they fix what needs to be done, and keep going.

SRK on the other hand, is delusional. He pretty much ignores the criticisms he gets and blindly believes that he's doing great. He's still living in the past glory of being that romantic hero, and his current work reflects it. The guy was in HNY - clearly he's confused about what he's supposed to do. Out of all 3 Khans, it is his fangroup that is mostly losing faith in him. Perhaps not you, but it is for me.

Add to it that he pretty much lives as if it's 1995 and not 2015...

SRK.

His films already make less than those of other Khans. His offscreen acts, onscreen acts etc everything has becone predictable. He has even been displaced in Forbes list. He was always overexposed unlike other 2 Khans so people are beginning to get tired of him. He's like an over squeezed nimbu now. No offense to his fans.

Salman will be next if he keeps doing same repetitive stuff.

Aamir will not fade away. His value is such that anything he does, attracts audience. Overseas also he is breaking records. PK had no marketing but was a massive hit. He does different stuff, he is not overexposed and the credibility he has earned now has only benefitted his films which are anticipated and expected to be worth watching just because he's doing them. And any day his script sense is better than other Khans.

Crappy Khan if he keeps doing shitbag movies like Crappy New Year...
Not to mention out of all the Khans, he looks the yuckiest, sagging everywhere. Saggy Khan, no wonder...

If he has immense power of his stardom then why his films are behind Aamir and Salman films in box office? Overseas his films failed to break Aamir's records. Audience taste change fast times are changing today youth needs new things in films. Salman's action films found a loyal fanbase he is keeping fit he quit smoking he looks good dont forget believable hitting 10 villans. Srk's fanbase were of romantic films. at his age with his current looks Srk will look creepy uncle in romantic films. Srk tried action films he failed he tried sci-fi epic fail then he went back to romance again he failed JTHJ. Not a single film made a record he is getting beaten by other 2 khans badly. The new gen actors are more preferred for romantic films and romcoms. Who wants to see Srk kissing actresses half his age onscreen. he no longer looks like a 20 plus loverboy. 😆
