Is Josh a cult classic?

I don't know if people still remember the kind of following this movie got when it first released. But it was a semi-hit at the box office, inspired by West Side Story and I remember the songs being a huge rage. And a lot of people copying SRK's tapori style. I always imagined that it would be more cherished as time went on.

Aish's wavy, beach curls/hair, mini plaid skirts, short Church dresses were pretty popular. Along with SRK's bandana, shades and the whole ear-rings look. I still remember this whole re-enactment of Hum Bhi Hai Josh Mein and a lot of Eagle vs Bichoo wannabes, but has that lasted or was it just a momentary fade.

Like people still reference AAA, Maine Pyar Kiya, DDLJ, Sholay, Hera Pheri...but Josh has kind of lost it's way right? Do you think if it was re-made, or made today it probably could do better?

No its not IMHO . Unlike DDLJ , MPK , HAHK , etc josh is not a original story . An forget not being original . It's not even that good . I had trouble following It . Songs were decent tho

Honestly, I found it awkward with Shahrukh and Aishwarya playing siblings. But the more times I watched it, I grew to love them as siblings. The movie was average, songs were fab, but it didn't create that overall impact that some other movies have. Still it was worth a good watch. And all acted well. I enjoyed it.

Strange that Aish and SRK had better chemistry as siblings there than as a couple in devdas

Ash looked super kool in this movie. Her best look so far. But that's about it .. maybe SRK's singing in apun bola tu meri laila was also the added good feature along with beautiful Goa locales. Can't think of any other good thing about that film.

A mumbaiya tapori lingo in Goa.. 😆 directors totally lost there.

Srk acted well as tapori but if given equal footage and lines... the other guy( forgot his name) wud have overshadowed him. Srk had to act hyper.. the other was just natural.

cult classic? ammm nooo 🥱 "Apun bola" (sounded like bakra singing dehydrated) was lame attempt of "aye, kya bolti tu".(sounded like a real tapori) 😆

The movie was not even that good. It was just okay. I feel the movie had no repeat value. I mean you can watch mpk, ddli, hahk,sholay, AAA, hera pheri 10 times and not get bored of them. Thats why these movies are considered classic. I don't think I can watch josh 10 times.

Among all aishwarya movies, I feel its hddcs that is classic.

I love josh! It's so highly underrated IMO.
It actually has a storyline, Shahrukh looked and performed so well, and I can watch it again and again

Josh is not a classic at all..not at per with DDLJ, HAHK etc
i don't think many people even liked it
and Aish-SRK playing sibling was the most bla thing
