SIDHARTH MALHOTRA To play Ram in Ram Lakhan Remake

Ever since director Rohit Shetty and Producer Karan Johar have announced the remake of the 1989 super hit film Ram Lakhan, there have been number of speculative stories regarding the actors playing the lead roles. However, a reliable source close to the project recently revealed that Sidharth Malhotra has been finalised by the makers to play the role of Ram, which was portrayed by actor Jackie Shroff in the original movie.The source says, "The makers were looking out for an appropriate actor to play Ram in the remake of Ram Lakhan. Of course, a lot of speculative names have been doing rounds, however, they have finally zeroed down on Sidharth Malhotra for this coveted role."

Apparently, Ranbir Kapoor has also been finalised to play Lakhan in this much awaited remake. Well, we are sure that these two talented actors would contribute handsomely to this highly anticipated project.A number of names had been floating around earlier for these roles. Reportedly, actors Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh were also being considered for the roles. However, now with Sidharth and Ranbir on board, we are sure the film is going to be quite an entertainer.

The original Ram Lakhan was directed by Subhash Ghai and had an ensemble cast including Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Madhuri Dixit and Dimple Kapadia. While we already know who would play the male leads in this remake, it would be interesting to see which Bollywood actresseswould play the female leads.Currently, Rohit is busy shooting for Dilwale which stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon and Varun Sharma in the lead roles. Reports suggest that Dilwale will have a Christmas release this year.
