Something to think about:

- instead, what if a boyfriend/husband went to see a big game that was being played by his girlfriend/wife. If she lost that big game would the blame shift to her significant other the way it did for Anushka?

- instead of Deepika, if a male actor came open about his depression and if did a video like this would the reactions be the same?

First of all, those who blamed Anushka were criticised. You talk of blame. Husbands/BFs/kids/parents, everyone is blamed for any problem, weakness or failure woman faces. Nobody takes women's games this seriously and doesn't discuss, scrutinise each aspect of game the way they do for men's cricket. So comparison cannot be made. Ever seen Saina get so scrutinised if she loses a match?

A male would be called MCP if he did such a video and backlash would be worse. It would be debate on Newshour with Arnab and co shaming men for chauvinism.
Depression? Aamir Khan spoke about it few years ago after his divorce. Nobody bothered. Whereas Deepika is being hailed as some mental health champion.

^ I'll reply to your view later tonight as I'm at work. Lol. But thanks for being civil in your thoughts. Having healthy discussions on a forum like this is always nice, so thank you for presenting your views well.

(BTW didn't know about Aamir).

LOL one hand, you say different strokes for different folks, and same instant people not agreeing with the video are "hateful" ? You may think it's a positive concept, others may think it's a negative concept and deserves the criticism. Who made you the judge of deciding whether the video is positive or negative ? As you keep preaching, how about practice for a change and let people have the space to criticize than calling their stand hateful. And if their stand is hateful than yours is nothing more than a blind fanaticism on display.

Not once did I say that people that disagree with the video are 'hateful'. Now if your twisting my words and making them into what you want to believe, then that's not my problem. I just stated a fair opinion, nothing more. No need to over-analyze my words. Never called anyone 'hateful.'

Yes and Yes to both. No need to make it all about gender.

Fame and attention comes with bouquets and bricks and celebs shall be questioned/criticized for their intention. Not everyone has to shower them with praises. So don't see the need to make it he vs she shit.

Aamir had given so many interviews on how media hounded him, how he locked himself up in his house and started smoking and drinking, stopped working, worried about kids, spoiled his health and only his sister who is a psychoanalyst, was someone he could confide in.

You don't know about it and that itself speaks for how people get selective in giving attention and empathy if a man speaks out. Media didn't make prime time headlines of it hence it was ignored.

When nothing else works "no need to over analyze" huh 😆

Sure, if you are blind to your own words, you can keep believing your gibberish, not my problem either. Even my opinion is very fair based on what I read in your initial post calling out people showering hate on Deepika.

I remember reading Aamir's interview when he was talking about being depressed.

It was a poorly made video. If celebs can enjoy all the plaudits, fame that comes with it, they should take criticism the same way.
