You don't simply get the 'American' accent by being in the US for a certain number of years. I know people who have lived in the US for over 14 years and still don't have the 'American' accent. Stop believing you have the accent when you don't. If you need training and coaching for it, there is nothing wrong in that.

Different parts of the US have different accents. Boston accent is different from a Chicago, NY, New Orleans, Texas, Cali, Alaska, Nebraska...a lot of ppl get coached in it, not sure why PC finds it weird. But yeah her accent is a hodge podge so they're probs trying to refine it so she sounds she came from one place. 😆

errmm she's so delusional lol. nobody think you have american accent, what you have is 'fake' american accent. I prefer deepika's thick indian accent over her fake american accent any day.

Dude what is a Michigan accent? Ben Affleck has a Boston accent doesn't he?

I, for the life of me can't figure out different American accents, they all SOUND THE SAME TO ME!!!!

Ben Affleck might have had a Boston accent at one time but now he speaks normal American accent. Southern accents are very different form north. Boston, especially south Boston has a very strong accent, almost a twang to their pronunciations. Then there is the Brooklyn NY accent that is also twangy for lack of a better word. But for the most part I don't have the ear for northern accents. If they are educated and have white collar jobs their regional accents are more or less gone and they speak the normal English that you hear in Hollywood movies and TV shows.
