NH10 has censor board divided
There is a split in the Examining Committee over NH10 and its possible certification.

Anushka Sharma-starrer, NH10, which marks the debut of the actress as a producer, was also screened for the CBFC on Monday. And this time too there was a split in the Examining Committee. According to a source present at the screening, some members were ready to pass it with a few cuts and an Adult certificate but others weren't sure whether the film is fit for public consumption and if it should be certified at all.

The film's director, Navdeep Singh, told Mirror, "I have not been informed about what cuts they want. All I know is that some members found it too violent and didn't care for the abusive language. We didn't have a very long discussion. All I was told was that it would be referred to the Chairperson for a final decision."

Given that the film has already been pushed forward by a week from March 6 to March 13, are the makers now under pressure to make certain creative compromises? "At the moment I'm really confused about what's happening. I don't know what they are objecting to or what cuts they are recommending. I finally got a date for the screening from them after two cancellations. As of now, we have not been informed of any decision but are hoping to hear from them tomorrow. As long as the integrity of the story, characters and setting is not compromised, I'm okay. "

Anushka Sharma added, "We have made a very good film and I'm confident of the content. In fact, we're surprised about the delay and contemplation over the film."

When Mirror got in touch with the Chairperson, he said that he hadn't seen either of the films. He pointed out that according to the procedure he does not have to sit for any screenings with the Examining Committee. "If there is a difference of opinion amongst the members then they can refer the film to me and after that either the makers can take it to the Revising Committee directly or I could refer the film to the RC," he pointed out. And would he sit in on the Revising Committee screening? "That's my choice," he retorted.

And what is his personal take on whether these films should be released? "I can't say since I haven't read the script or seen the films. The files should come to me tomorrow with the recommendations of the board and after that we'll take a call on further action," he stated.

They have asked for an A certificate. High time these scrubs let adults take responsibility of what they wanna watch. Such a shame you have losers like Nhalani as censor board chief.

They found Ghanta and Lesbian in DLKH unsuitable for audience
I doubt they would let something like NH10 release easily 😆

Yash Chopra was lucky he could use the word. In JTHJ, SRK used the word lesbian as a 'gaali'.

Much ado about nothing...NH10 looks too low budget for audience to bother for it.

I'm really happy with the way things are moving right now. We have been living in the dark all along...I'm glad we have people in the censor board who are all set to lead us towards the path of progress and eternal happiness. 😊
It's high time we stopped enjoying 'gandi' baats. Chalo kadam badhao swacch aur khush-haal cinema ki taraf. Chale chalo 👍🏼 👏

Censor Board's strictness is inversely proportional to the clout of the producer. Since Eros and Phantom is backing it...it will sail with a few cuts at most.
If it was an indie film then they would have stopped the film for years.

Don't release it in theaters. Go The Interview route, release it via digital media. Stir a controversy and buzz so people want to and pay to watch it. Let the censor board know that they can no longer hold films hostage.

Aniruddha Guha @AniGuha

#NH10 has been postponed due to censor troubles. No violence. No sex. No abusive language. Let's bring Tuffy back to the movies. #Sanskaar
