Will Roy hurt Ranbir's future prospects, can he afford another flop?

Worried for Ranbir. Honestly, doing Roy has hurt him more than help. I was reading Box Office India and the film cost 50 crore to make. 😲 How is that possible? Arjun Rampal has lost it and Jacqueline is not exactly the best heroine. Bombay Velvet has a 100 crore plus budget to. If this movie bombs, he will be in major trouble. What happened to my favorite actor? Can we safely say this amazing actor is having a rough patch or is it only temporary? I hope Bombay Velvet makes at least 150 crore and shuts up his haters. Please share your thoughts. 😉

Ranbir is here to stay no need to worry about him...he is miles ahead of his competition even with Roy and besharam behind him coz he has built his fan base with good films..so it won't just go away just like that.

What makes me believe in BV is KJO's faith in it...he may not make the best films anymore but he knows the pulse of the indian audience n what they like...he is even repeating ranbir n anushka in his directorial coz he liked them in BV so that says alot. A big advantage BV has that there have been period films like jodhka akbar etc but nothing along the lines of great gatsby which will be a first for bollywood...whenever a film offers something new it has a good chance

I might sound blunt but ,YES..even BV promos and interview articles r not promising and with a budget of 100+ ram jane where the movie goes...but what iam looking forward is karan's first time onscreen performance...😃

Flops dont kill any established actor.Indifference,laziness and back to back poor performances will anger many producers/directors and costars. Just like sports stars who are paid unheard amounts and attain celebrity status must keep the fans happy,irrespective of whether the team wins or loses,Ranbir needs to rise above the film,not contribute to its failure,like he did in his last 2 films.

BV is make or break for RK..the other films JJ,tamasha,Ayan film,ADHM are all more of the same..in terms of performances.

The other young actors with their slates clean..and producers/directors becoming more innovative and daring..they will run past him in no time...

Roy in of itself will not. But if Tamasha and more importantly BV don't do well then Roy has just added to the number of his flops.

BV is riddled with controversy and problems, even if they are not true they are out there getting discussed by the media. It has a very high budget. If the movie is at least not a hit it will be a huge set back for him and Anurag Kayshap. In my opinion, it is not a good thing that other than his fans everyone else was more excited about Karan Johar's BV look. All of this assuming the movie is loved by critics. If it gets bad reviews than that's another thing to worry about.

Question - isn't he supposed to start Karan's movie in April in NYC or London? With BV releasing in May when is he promoting it?
