Yeah Sushmita's answers made her sound quite ignorant. The textile and wardrobe thing. And she said India is a multinational society with 168 languages. Even if she had a language barrier and ended up saying multi national instead of multi ethnic there's no excuse for the language bit. It's the basics. We have way more than that. But yes she handled everything with more composure and confidence. Aishwarya was quite fake with the whiny voice and giggles. Imo saying her own birth isn't a lot worse than the assassination of IG. Sushmita probably thought that would impress the pseudo feminists of the jury because Indira was a strong woman and all but what's funny is that Indira only proved women could be just as bad as men. I guess that makes a strong case for equality.

I'm not even a fan of Aish but I admire her beauty even though now it's fading as she's aging, and she's trying hard to retain it with fillers. Moreover, beauty lies in the eyes of a beholder so anyone can have their own opinion.

But at least when I don't like someone, then I don't come up with such essays with comments after comments under a single post, coz I have much better things to do.

Aishwarya changed after she started going to Cannes . I think she didn't know what to do. There was all this anticipation around her rumoured Hollywood projects. She didn't want to screw it up by being ' too Indian' , she also had to keep up with other jury members without looking like the exotic Indian woman from the song and dance movies. So I think the pressure made her conscious and she came up with this new personality and was a mix and match project with mannerisms from this sit com accents from a couple of places , clothes that confused everyone. In her earlier interviews she speaks and behaves like someone who has had training in classical dance. She had to tone this down for her western appearances to look cosmopolitan enough. The smile changed somewhere along the way, she stopped stretching the corners of her mouth. Which was a good thing anyway.

What was her answer ? The Mother Teresa one? I've seen the clip but I don't remember what the question was.

looking at this topic, now that I think of it, Aish was never popular for her smile It was always Madhuri.

Madhuri has a pretty smile. I meant Sonam - I remember looking at some pics of hers which literally showed all her teeth. Though generally, she has a good smile.

I think some people are naturally blessed with beautiful smiles (the kind that reaches their eyes). I don't think Aishwarya was ever known for her smile. More for symmetrical features.
