There's was talk that Sharp Objects might be made into a TV movie instead--I sure hope not.

Leo is another one that is long overdue for his Oscar. I'm afraid he might win the way Al Pacino did after 8 nominations. For a movie that wasn't necessarily his best work. When Pacino won (don't remember the name of the movie but he played a blind piano teacher) it was widely speculated that he won more for his career than the specific role itself.

This I agree with to the T.

Some of my friends were saying Matthew deserved it more b/c he lost weight for the role and yes he was good. But I remember Marty saying that in that one office scene where Leo is talking to the crowd---it was done it one take b/c he and Leo felt the energy would be lost if they cut it. I mean all that energy and staying in character and getting it down perfectly in only 2-3 takes--Leo's a genius. I felt like he was robbed for Aviator too.

Leonardo should have totally won supporting actor for What's Eating Gilbert Grape. I didn't think Tommy Lee Jones in Fugitive was all that great, compared to Leo's compelling performance as Arnie. More importantly, Leo was just a kid back then while Tommy was already a veteran. For a child artist to set a bar so high, it is amazing.

I don't mind him losing for Wolf of Wall Street. Matthew McCounaghey totally killed it in Dallas Buyers Club. Matthew totally deserved the award. I do kind of feel he was somewhat robbed for Aviator and Blood Diamond. Jamie Foxx and Forest Whitaker were good, but I don't see them as clear cut winners.

I also feel several of his roles were unrecognized - Titanic, Inception, Shutter Island, Catch Me If You Can, Romeo and Juliet, The Departed. Phenomenal performances, but no nominations. Aamir Khan needs to seriously learn a lesson from Leo. How to remain graceful when your work is not recognized. Leo's humility and cheering on for his rivals at every award ceremony make me love him even more. Here is a man who really does it for his passion, not for ego or accolades.

Amy is a solid choice to play CP but more than her, Emily Blunt is a total Camille!! Think she would do a smashing job. No I didn't want Theron to play her, but doesn't matter- She'll do a darn good job of Libby Day.

I think Dakota Fanning would do a really good job as Amity too.

Whaaa? You SAW her? Wow. I think you I don't like you anymore. 😆 Honestly if I saw her I would be legit star-struck. She's so smart, funny, wholesome & yet she writes these CRAZY DARK WOMEN! I love her & her writing in ways that I didn't think I would when I first picked up GG one rainy day because I had nothing to do. 😆

Tv movie nononononono! That's all sorts of wrong! Every Flynn book has to be made into a movie with a fantastic star cast. All said- Amy Dunne was so lacking-She started off as this awesome woman, with her jagged peaks & psychotic edges wrapped in sunshine, you always felt there was something totally wrong.. But she turned out to be a woman just obsessed with her husband... I loved her character till the end. The end was pathetic.

Shutter Island, Catch Me If You Can & Inception-Completely. He's a powerhouse performer.

MEB , have you seen whiplash? If yes, how is it? It seems the fiom is brillant and loved by critics.

And do watch HER. one of the very unusual movie I have seen in recent times. All actors were brilliant but for me , scarlet johansin 's voice was the hero of the film. The film surely raised a valid question about our emotiobal connectivity and human disconnect. Loved Amy adams in it too. Unfortunately an underrated movie.
