Have my favorites and hope they win.
Best film -boyhood
Best director-Richard Linklater, what a deficated craftman to weave a story fir these many years. Only for that effort and sheer commitment the man had is oscarworthy.
Best actor-as all important pre oscar awards went to Eddy Redmayne , so expecting him to win the ultimate biggie too. Though I did not like the film much as it did not reflect Stephen Hawkibg lufe or its struggle, the acting Eddy redmayne did was beyond spectacular. His physical transformation and pitch perfect body language puts him miles ahead from others for me. Hope to see his winning speech in the morning.
I have my serious concerns for Michael keaton winning the actor though. Hope not please.
And lastly in this category my phangirl heart will be sad as I know Benedict Cumberbatch is missing this opportunity for winning an oscar. He was brilliant in the imitation game I heard, yet to watch. But I guess loosing to more desrving ones is never a bad thing. Too close yet too far for him. Well always hope he bags the next soon.
Best actress- my fav is felicity jones or rosamund pike. One was soul and warm, throbbing heart of the film and other cold, calculative Hero of the film. But I guess as prediction and pre oscar wins suggest, its Julian Moore . Dont see my fav winning.
Lastly the toughest category would be best supporting actor I guess. Edward Norton , Ethan Hawke, J.K Simmons. I havent seen whiplash or birdman , so cant judge by performances. But as I really like Edward Norton, I would be elated if he wins the category which is unlikely it seems.
Finally two disappointments in best actor category -the actor in selma deserved nomination and so did jake gyllenhal for nightcrawler.
So lot of anticipations there, waiting for unveiling the curtains and end to suspense.
Thanks for the thread.
