Deepika to make her singing debut with Tamasha

After Salman, Priyanka, Alia and Shraddha,
Deepika Padukone all set to sing a song for her
upcoming romantic film with Ranbir Kapoor
titled Tamasha; Music is composed by A R
Rahman.
The trend of actors becoming singers for their
own songs is catching up in Bollywood. Actors
like Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt
and Shraddha Kapoor have already sung for
their own songs and now joining the list in
Deepika Padukone who is keen to sing a song in
Tamasha.
A source close to the development revealed to
a leading daily-
"Actresses singing for their own songs in recent
films seems to have become a hugely popular
trend. Rahman is one of those music composers
who usually gets very involved with the project
beyond music and gets along well with actors.
Imtiaz and he go a long way back as the two
have worked together previously as well. They
share a great comfort level so when Tamasha
was being planned, it was obvious that Rahman
would score the music. However, what was
surprising was that Imtiaz turned up with
Deepika for one of their musical sessions. It
was surprising to see the actress accompany
him for the meeting. Rahman even posted a
picture of the trio on his social networking
page."
Tamasha stars Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika
Padukone in main lead and is slated to release
in 2016.
