I am disappointed in DP for following TOI. In the end though it was inevitable. Media and celebrities have a symbiotic relationship. I don't think they will ever divorce from each other completely.

As for the AIB roast issue. Personally, I have been a very vocal and vociferous proponent of feminism and women's right issues on the forum. I myself didn't see anything antifeminist, sexist or misogynist in the AIB roast. I saw Ranveer Singh and his perversion as the punchline. The jokes degraded him way more than any woman. In the end it is a matter of opinion and perception. We all define issues and key points in issues differently.

Some feminists are against po*n as a medium which is degrading and abusive to women. Some feminists support po*n as a woman's right to express her body and sexuality. Some feminists condemn Victoria's secret shows as objectification. Some feminists support Victoria's secret shows as freedom of choice and expression for women. Somethings are always going to be polarizing and offer a myriad of perceptions.

In the end the bottom line for me is supporting the cause rather than the celebrity. If DP makes a point confirming to the brand of women's rights I believe in, I will concur with her. If she makes a point contradicting the brand of women's rights I believe in, I will disagree with her.

I am not sure but i think some IF-Members are way more interested in believing that the articels are brought up from Deepikas PR than actually it is. How many post are open about this? You should move on. Also you cant compare between Anushka and Deepika. People are much more interested in what Deepika says ( look at all the Topics that IF-Members open) than anushkas. Anushka is a good actress while deepika is a Superstar. And i think there is nothing wrong what she has said or done. Her lovers and Haters are too sensitive with her actions soo it only shows that she truly has arrived in B-Town.

How many articles have we had on deepika's depression? Several!!

Not that she didn't suffer but look at anushka..she never aimed to gain sympathy or attention by it..she could have where as deepika just publicizes everything

She really needs to cut all this down.

Yeah even a PR analysis was out about how Deepika's team is currently trying to give her an image of a feminist and someone who does a lot of humanitarian work!

so it is an intentional move and is doing all this because her team says so.

But they being such a fail, at least don't contradict what they are doing in public, first goes against objectification but then participates in objectification etc.
