Times of India (TOI) were the ones to post those tweets on their Twitter page. Bombay Times is a supplement of TOI and they printed the 'Dear Deepika, Our Point Of View' article.

There were talks at the time that some people within TOI were against the article Bombay Times had printed. But to my knowledge, I don't think TOI have ever publicly apologized to Deepika for the tweets or the article.

Haan bombay times is a division of TOI and I guess delhi times opposed them and printed an article. I don't think TOI needs to apologise to her. Bombay times and division that handles online media for TOI needs to apologise. I m not very clear how the publication house is divided so I can't comment further. I just thought Bombay times and online partners were against her and the rest supported her.

This the the only article I could find right now:

Whoever was responsible, should they not at least publicly apologize to her to acknowledge what happened was not right? Or are we meant to brush it under the carpet and pretend it never happened?

Haan this. No point going against the whole media house because their one division hires incompetent journalists. Its one thing stating what she is not fine with and standing by it despite being called everything and another thing boycotting them completely and cause harm to her own career. Now maybe u and me might do it. But it will be shocking to see them do it. They fight today and they becomes best friends tomorrow. Its how that world works i guess. Nothing new. But still since it was Bombay times and not the whole of TOI I feel is not really hypocricy.

😆

Even those who supported her are dissing her now. Poor thing should try looking into hiring a guy now like Gauhar to preach about women empowerment 😆

I supported the issue ...not her...still support the issue...None of us could have known that she would turn out such a big hypocrite with little self respect

I know that these stars have to kiss and make up with the media at some point of time...but this woman didn't waste a minute into going back into the arms of TOI🤢...I mean do u remember that her issue was not limited to just Indian media...it went all over the world with so many international publications commending her for taking a stand for women...and her stand gaya tel lene within no time...atleast she could have waited a little while before going crawling back to TOI🥱

Yes, I understand your point about not boycotting TOI completely and harming her career.

She's not like the Bachchans who had boycotted Filmfare awards in 2010 when Mumbai Mirror wrote a false article about Aishwarya being unable to conceive. Of course in that incident, TOI were forced to apologise to the Bachchans as they had threatened legal action against them.

It's just sad that a female actor who does not come from an influential film family cannot expect an apology in a matter where she and many others feel she was wronged.

Anyway, it's up to Deepika want she wants to do.

Let's agree to disagree on this matter. 😊
