^^ Because people demanding ban or censorship are quoting Indian culture as the reason. And why India only because it's only this country where people be filing FIR against a roast.

The complainants represent their understanding of Indian culture. It does not warrant slamming whole India.

Investigation has been ordered. There's been no decision yet that such India bashing needs to be done.

Anyway this forum has forever bashed India so carry on in name of FoE.

To this degree yes . Ok in America if some comics go to far they loose their backing, endorsements or film projects but no one orders police investigations for some jokes 😲😲

MUMBAI, INDIA: After pledging an inquiry to determine if a roast of actors Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, employed obscene language and content, the Maharashtra government has said it will not exercise "moral policing."

Maharashtra minister for cultural affairs Vinod Tawde first said "Such vulgarity is a crime and based on facts which will emerge, the government will file a case against them."

But later, he tweeted the probe would be limited to determining whether the event, held in Mumbai on December, had necessary clearances.

On #AIBRoast, will only enquire if the AIB had taken appropriate certificate. No moral policing if they r allowed by law, I can't stop them.

Who is slamming a country? Just because we don't agree with the redundant laws which btw the latest internal studies of Law Ministry highlighted doesn't mean it's a vendata against India as a country?

We are just amused that this matter should even be investigated considering how the state Govt had no statement on a child thrown out and beaten up by an eatery recently.

India for now appears to be the only country where the CM is commenting on a roast .
