@ red- Because people tend to see the first page or the last page first while reading the newspaper and the brand registers immediately, the very purpose of advertisers to put up ads on the first page.
TOI is paid shit ton by anybody who wishes to place their ad in the first page.(around 1.2 Cr. for Mumbai).

TOI has had so many full page advertisements from such a long time.When Chennai Express first look comes on the front page, no one complains, when Volkswagen innovative vibration ads come on front page, everyone is amazed,when Jockey boxer ads come on front page, nothing happens. Show a woman having a shower with clothes covering her modesty and Alok Nath hormone lets loose. #Sanskaar.

But how does losing the real essence of being a real newspaper makes it a gossip magazine? I assume you don't stay in India so probably don't read the main published paper but I don't see blind items of Sonia and Modi, link ups of Kejri and Bedi on the main newspaper, then how is it a gossip magazine? 😆
