Udta Punjab with Shahid Kapoor and another film with Raj Kumar Gupta - one keeps hearing about the various films that Kareena Kapoor Khan has apparently greenlighted, though an official confirmation is yet awaited. For someone who has made a lot of news not just for the films that she does but also about the ones she leaves, Kareena has been media's favorite child right through 50 odd films that she has done in the last 15 years. From Refugee (2000) to now Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), it has been one eventful journey for Kareena who seldom frets about the fate of her flops or gets overly excited about her superhits."That's because I move on very fast," says Kareena, "This comes from experience because of all the time that I have spent in this industry. When you spend so many years in this place, you do become immune to some extent. I know for sure that everything here is very frivolous, you can't take things to heart," she adds.
No wonder, from the disaster of Gori Tere Pyaar Mein (2013), it took Kareena less than a year to recover in a major way with Singham Returns (2014). Neither was she seen weeping over the failure of the Karan Johar production nor was she painting the town red once her Rohit Shetty directed film went on to become a superhit. "See, these are all my films and my choices. I am what I am because of my hits and flops. It's fine as some films will work and some won't," says Kareena adding, "Nothing should be taken very seriously, whether it's success or failure. Everyone makes mistakes, so be it."
However, considering the fact that she is THE Kareena Kapoor, she is constantly under the spotlight and that's not just for the films she does but also the ones she doesn't. As a result, her stepping out of Shuddhi as well as Bombay Samurai were pretty much talked about for a major part of 2014."I guess these are my decisions and a lot has been said about it already. However, to constantly scrutinize as to why Kareena picked up one film or didn't do another is not anyone's problem but mine," Kareena makes her point, loud and clear. While she was seen in a couple of cameos in the latter part of 2014 (The Shaukeens, Happy Ending), 2015 is looking quite busy for her what with Bajrangi Bhaijaan, that also stars Salman Khan, being in the news ever since it was announced. Moreover, she also makes an appearance in the Akshay Kumar starrer Gabbar. With a couple of other major films in the pipeline that are set to go on the floors in the first half of the year, Kareena is pretty much balancing her marital life as well as professional career. No wonder, none of the rumours, speculations or loose talk bothers her."That's maybe because I come from a family where we have seen so many ups and downs. Our job is just that we have to put our head down and move forward. That's something I totally believe in as well. It works for me," Kareena smiles and says before signing off.
