Am I the only one who finds something very wrong in these pictures? Instead of a sporting event, this has become a typical bollywood PR stunt.

It's bad enough how bollywood goes nuts with trying to click lots of selfies with any hollywood star coming in...but this is so terribly wrong. Something very sickening about how bollywood stars like aamir, deepika hogged the limelight looking for photo-ops with legends like roger federer and novak djokovic. Aamir was obviously doing PR for his movie PK along with the standard photoshoot of him with his son to put himself in the limelight. Both were less interested in playing tennis or sports, as much as getting as many pictures clicked in a flattering light. Why do our B-town stars need to be part of every high profile event? Are they the only people that matter?? All they care is about being in the limelight, nothing more, nothing less. Nothing wrong with that, if it were a typical movie promotion event. Except this event deserved so much better.

I bet Federer and Novak could have cared less about these people, but did their part of joining in the crowd. These were sporting legends. Look at Sania Mirza, she seemed to be hardly acknowledged over there. Why couldn't we look at the bigger picture and instead of bringing in B-town stars, have had our own sporting legends part of this event? What about also bringing in Saina Nehwal, Sindhu and having them participate ? Let them be in the centre frame...they are world champions in their own right. Even our indian tennis stars didn't get as much screen space as they deserved. Many of them have won medals in international events. Just because Deepika is a better looking model-wise, we put her in the forefront?? What does that say about our own self esteem or the utter lack of respect we give to our sportstars who achieve so much (esp. if not from cricketing field) on their own, battling so much politics, winning medals and yet not acknowledged at an event that should have been their chance to bask in the spotlight?

We ourselves do such a spectacular job of ignoring our own talents, not putting our best image forwards and then wonder how come India as a nation is not respected as much? All we seem to know is BW photo-ops and doing naach gana.

I totally agree. Way to undermine the popularity of top Tennis players. Maybe they thought the crowd will be less ,so they invited these crowd pulling BW actors. Now instead of concentrating on tennis, we discuss about Akshay doing cartwheels, Aamir bringing his 2 yr old on court, DP showcasing her toned body.😆

Huh? How exactly did Deepika hog the limelight? She was there to play a sport with him and journalists there clicked her pictures WITH the tennis players. Did she click a selfie in the middle of the court? Did she dress up in some heavy sparkly Indian outfit or a fancy gown? Did she bend down to take Federer's aashirwaad? Yeah...I don't think so.

About Aamir, Anushka, and Raju Hirani...yeah, I did find that kind of lame (along with the fact that Aamir brought his son in the middle of the court). Couldn't they just spare this one event and not promote anything related to their movie there? Don't worry Aamir, PK is going to break records here and there.

I can't think for the ones who organized this event but perhaps they wanted a few BW stars to attend so the overall event could have an even greater media coverage than it was already going to have. More celebs = more coverage = more money. Maybe. It sounds like a fickle reason to me, but I guess that's just how some things work.

I agree!
I seriously dont get the hype these BW stars create around international celebrities when they visit India. 😕
Its so damn annoying watching them hovering around these celebs for multiple photo sessions 😳

I hate how Bollywood actors always make Hollywood stars do some silly dance moves when they visit India.
It is even more idiotic that they made Federer and Djokovic do the same at a public event. Seriously, it is so ridiculous !

Please count me in the list. This whole Bollywood tamasha put me off the whole event, despite Federer being my all time fav sports personality. I was so looking forward to this event but as usual bollywood had to come and hog limelight in an event from which the had no relation whatsoever. And plz dont give the excuse that Aamir and Deepika were related to sports in ancient past. There are thousands of more accomplished sports personalities which were not invited.

How lovely it would have been had budding/upcoming players(from tennis or even from other sports) got an opportunity to intteract with legends like Federer, Sampras and Djokovic. How much they could have learned. There are fans who had waited for years to see Federer playing on Indian soil. But in the end organizers turned it into some gimmick with Bollywood stars showcasing their wannabe true selves. What a wonderful opportunity mised, for players as well as fans :(

What annoys me is when Bollywood celebs treat Hollywood actors like they are some royalty that deserves worshiping. Seriously chill!
PS my comment is general statement not really about this specific event!

Bollywood stars are always meant to hog limelight for the sake of their profession..also our sports stars are no less..they dance in shows, appear in comedy shows, hosts entertainment reality shows, appear in movie, click selfies with actors..I dont blame either of them for being publicity hungry
If someone is to be blamed then it should be the organizers. They are cashing the stars to promote their event. Stars will do whatever they are asked to do in exchange of money. If the orgranizer think they cant do without the glamour quotient then why make the stars responsible for it?
