Sonam's Dolly Ki Doli same as Neeru Bajwa's R.S.V.P.? Writer says it all

Thankfully, for a change, a writer of an original film R.S.V.P. has spoken in defense of a film Dolly Ki Doli, instead of charging it with plagiarism, even as the rumors were abuzz till a few days back that latter could well be a remake of former. That's because, some of the viewers, after watching the promo of the Arbaaz Khan production, observed that the tale of a runaway con-bride was strikingly similar to the part that Neeru Bajwa had played in R.S.V.P. that released last year.
Though Arbaaz was in an unhappy mood when rumors started floating around the plagiarism charge, and fired those making such remarks without checking facts, he had also challenged Ved Prakash, writer of R.S.V.P. to clarify the stand, especially since he had personally met him and cleared the air.
Arbaaz Khan had said, "People sometimes get impatient and jump to conclusions due to which even genuine filmmakers get hassled. Guess it would only suit the writer better if he does the needful and help avoid a controversy, which isn't there in the first place."
In R.S.V.P., Neeru Bajwa does dupe her groom (Harish Verma) but has a gradual change of heart, when the latter hunts for her and brings her back into the family. On the other hand, in Dolly Ki Doli, Sonam Kapoor is shown as a serial con girl who takes Rajkummar Rao, Varun Sharma and Pulkit Samrat for a royal ride.
Well, Ved Prakash has come out in open and put to closure all such speculations.
He says, "The entire Khan family is so cultured. Writing runs in their blood. Salim (Khan) saab has been a pioneer when it comes to original writing. Whenever there is any issue faced by the writers, he always takes a stand with them. I can't fathom why Arbaaz bhai or anyone else from their family would ever lift a film. On the basis of what I have seen so far and the conversations that I had with Arbaaz bhai, both films are not similar. I have no reason to believe otherwise."
On contacting, Arbaaz said, "Well, since he has clarified himself, guess it's all good. We can move on with the film. There are so many other good things to talk about in Dolly Ki Doli; for starters our songs with Sonam and Malaika which are catching on well."
While Arbaaz is choosing to not make much of a hullabaloo around this, an insider adds on a lighter note, "If characterization is what leads to the two films being similar to each other then perhapsRowdy Rathore, Dabangg and Singham too have lifted from each other. After all, the protagonists in each of these films were cops and carried similar traits, isn't it?"
Now, who would argue that!
