The pattern of signing films is not according to current movie releases.

Before Ricky Bahl released he had already signed Lootera, SLB had already signed him for Ram leela before Lootera even wrapped up.

Directors look at what movies they are working on currently, so BM and DDD are a fruit of 2013, which are releasing in 2015. In that case Gunday and Kil Dil will have an after effect, he is still popular despite of KD failure, so Im not sure exactly how much it will affect it. But his 2016 might not be great, but I am sure 2017 will pick up again.

Thats just how it works in Bollywood. MY observation, otherwise how did Alia Bhatt sign so many movies before the release of SOTY?

BUT BABA needs more solo films. If Varun and Sid and Arjun can do it. He can undoubtedly too. He did it in BBB, Lootera, Ram Leela, all which I consider successful. DDD is a multi-starrer which can still do him good. But he is really investing his time in BM, if it ends up working the JodhaAkbar magic then we know it will be career-changing for him. Its actually really risky at this point in his career.

I really really really hope it pays off.
