Saif Ali Khan says his acting in the coming comedy 'Happy Ending' is much different from what he's done in the past.

Actor-producer Saif Ali Khan, last seen in "Humshakals", says his new film "Happy Ending", a romantic comedy, features him in a "subtle" avatar as opposed to some "loud" roles he has essayed in the past.

Saif, along with the "Happy Ending" cast", launched the movie's trailer at an event here Thursday.

Talking about the movie, in which he plays a writer, Saif said: "It is a genre I am comfortable with. Raj and DK (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK) have directed it in a slightly different way for me. Sometimes in the past I have acted a little loudly, and this one is quite subtle."

"With this one, we have tried to go with a slightly international way of acting, which is new for me and challenging. I really enjoyed it," added the 44-year-old, who has even produced the film.

"Happy Ending" also stars Govinda, Kalki Koechlin, Ileana D'Cruz and Ranvir Shorey. The film is slated for a Nov 21 release.

Saif Ali Khan hopes it performs well at the box office, but added that money was not the only concern while putting the film together.

"Box office is important, we would like to make a lot of money and want our investors to be really happy. But do we go out of our way to put together a film that is designed only to make money? We have probably tried that as well, but this is not one of those," Saif said.

Kareena Kapoor and Preity Zinta have guest appearances in the movie.

A scene in the movie required Ileana and co-star Saif Ali Khan to hitch a ride as they were shooting on the Pacific Coast Highway between Los Angeles and San Francisco.

But when no car stops on the Highway, Saif had to ask Ileana to strip so that someone passing by offers a lift. Ileana then takes off her clothes one by one to draw attention of the passing cars until they finally get a lift.

One part makes it look like its a scene from the film & the other part makes it look like it happened for real while they were shooting 😆

Yeah i remember..I loved that part 😆 Its just the way the article is written 😆 Something tells me i'l like Saif & Ileana together..I loved her in Barfi ( am one of the few who wanted Shruthi to end up with Barfi 😆 ) & she seems to have good chemistry with Saif as well..

Was watching the trailer launch..At one point a journo asks Saif was Kareena insecure about your scenes with Ileana..you should have seen both their faces-they were like W*F! 😆

LOL i doubt Kareena cares..She seems to live in her own bubble 😆 She din even seem to have a problem with Saif working again with Bips 😆
