I was just pleasantly surprised that someone decided to take this up and also that DP seems to have become a bit more outspoken about things... No idea if this is part of another image makeover though...

A lot of people are making it a women's issue. They are making her some kind of Mother Teresa with all the tweets showing respect to her. Cut the crap its a one to one fight. Battle of ego not some noble deed.

If her attack makes TOI stop putting up shitty articles and stories objectifying women completely, only then I can appreciate her stand. If her power as a star can make TOI quit making disgraceful body zooming sleazy materials then only can I say, job well done. 😛

Everything will go back to the same after few days. Some of the people supporting her, are popular for s**t shaming and degrading other women. AIBB, Mojo, Virdas, Tanmay, BollywoodGandu trolls who make crass jokes on women, supporting a woman now

Why so much of love now for women? Clearly bec its Deepika Padukone an influential superstar of India not some C-grader actress.

It's about equality like you said, not that women are better than men. 😆 But no, now we get feminists going crazy trying to/wanting to impose other rules on us...don't do this, don't wear makeup, don't cook, don't do this, don't do that. 🥱

yup. Rosie CRAZY O'Donnell comes to mind

Your comment is full of illogical statements, please read what you wrote because it makes no sense

"Wat happened with kat was bad but she did the blunder of writing a letter to media rather then not taking a stand for herself"

KATRINA IS NOT ON TWITTER OR ANY OTHER SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES! How can you say open letter = not taking stand for yourself. What did you want her to do, if she had a twitter account like your precious Deepika then only would her behavior been viewed as taking a stand? 🤪 She is not on social net working sites so of course would she take a stand through an open letter published on the biggest newspaper site, that's what people do normally especially those who are not on net working sites, aishwarya did same few years back when abhishek was called infertile.

"she was one of the top actress if she would have raised voice people would have supported too but bcoz of her writing a letter to media, people made fun of it by saying its done by the PR"

So one can only raise their voice with writing on social networking sites, YOU ARE MAKING NO SENSE! If you write open letter then it can only be PR planned, if you write through your own twitter account then it can't be PR planned, there is no such gurantee.

Like I stated in the beginning, read your comment again...

People need to get their facts right here...
Katrina's pics were not just leaked. She got bashed and mocked for wearing a bikini, several big newspapers mocked her body and bashed her thighs.

Stardust leaked the pictures but bigger newspapers like TOI etc. quickly took them also and wrote nasty articles, so it was not just a picture leak.

What Deepika did is amazing BUT she is coming across like a hypocrite and double standard after how she commented about Katrina's situation.

Also it is hilarious how Deepika and the industry views this as some kind of revolution and as if she the biggest feminist in indian society who has created great rights for women.

And people are quick with judging the picture leak of katrina as PR but ignoring the fact that DP's could be PR stunt, do you really think she has been sitting for hours RT'ing 7589758 tweets when she tomorrow afternoon has to look fresh at the HNY music launch, if kat's was a pr stunt then dp's is no less...

So this photo is from her private beach vacation or the private moments with her boyfriend ??
No!!
This is her workplace phot. Where she is promoting a film. She commented on this because of the professional ethics.
She did not complain in any other of her private photos.

I think you're making it too black and white. It's better to single out situations. Most times when women do hit back it's out of self-defense, but even if she shoots a man who is trying to hurt her--she has to prove it in court that it was an act of self-defense. I think we the people behind her social media can dish out opinions from our experiences and what we see in the world. And more often than not women have gotten the shorter end of the stick, have faced more of the double standards, abuse, and what not. So yes, not ALL men are jerks, there are cases of men being raped too, and women can be just manipulative and abusive--not in most instances that is not the case. I might be bias b/c of personal experiences, but I usually always support the women unless there's evidence stating otherwise.

As for supporting Deepika and why people are doing. B/c BW tends to treat women like shit. They are degraded all the time, they're ripped into pieces for weight issues, how they look, what they wear etc. And most of the time it crosses a line. I mean a lot of them face a lot of abuse too. How many industrywalas stood up and supported PZ during the Ness case? Just a handful. But see with Deepika's comments she got like the whole industry backing her. Granted she's not the first to face such things, but let's take whatever we can get. It's progress--better than nothing. Besides, she just defended herself and it took off. There was really no way of knowing how things were gonna turn out. People could have just as easily reacted differently.

Comments like these are hilarious! these people only show themselves as idiots because NO this is NOT THE FIRST TIME AN ACTRESS BODY PARTS HAS BEEN SO CHEAPLY PHOTOGRAPHED AND PUT IN FOCUS !
SOPHIE CHOUDRY @Sophie_Choudry

Media attacks a celeb's personal & professional life all the time but this is a new low! Tku for speaking out @deepikapadukone! #Shame #TOI

Arjun Kapoor @arjunk26

We have hit a new low today...forget complimenting a woman have the ability to respect a woman first...

Aww yes today the media has really hit a new low, they never have put the actress pantie, cleavage, bra in focus hence it's a "new low" before they did respect woman that's why such posts existed 🤪

@Meherbaan: Yeah like I said before all of those pics were posted to humilaite all of those women. And that is extremely degrading. I think that's way everyone supported Deepika and why the industry needs to keep supporting all of them whether it's an A grade actress or B and C grade one. I'm surprised no one has ever said anything and no one has sued these magazines. But with all this support for one woman will hopefully make such pictures less likely to be posted as headlines or made news items. Cuz it's not news-worthy and that red arrow is so freakin' ridiculous.

Didn't people use the same excuse about how Katrina is in bikini in her films so why should she complain? So why should Deepika complain too since she shows her cleavage in movies? And on top of that she spoke out against Katrina saying she should have been more careful. Will that could have been said about Deepika too..she should have been more careful.

I would have supported Deepika if she hadn't spoke out against Katrina. Now she just sounds like an opportunists and a hypocrite.

I have always said Deepika/Katrina are 2 sides of the same coin

They both lie , cheat and hand themselves out like candy 😆😆

An evidently both suck at hiding from media 😆😆
