Don't you think if someone else played that character it would have been much more convincing?

It was hard for me to imagine Rajat Kapoor as the sleazeball uncle.

I think, casting him was intentional: Mira wanted to show a venerable, helpful and wealthy uncle can also be a sleazeball.

Probably you are right.

Looks can be deceiving.

He just looks so seedha saadha types that it was just hard for me to look at him in that light.
