Nobody wants you to do offbeat movies. In fact, except Aamir in Earth and Ajay in Raincoat, when was the last time a commercial Bollywod star featured in an offbeat movie?

Salman and Co. need to understand the definition of offbeat movies. It's essentially art house cinemas that don't follow traditional narrative structures or are based on queer issues, stories, and anecdotes. I wouldn't want to watch any of the Khans in offbeat films. It's not their forte.

But Salman, people want you to do quality movies as well. Balancing it, even if it's 70-30 would be fine, but you rarely do that. By quality, I'm not expecting Salman to do artsy movies. That wouldn't be realistic, but a Khamoshi, HDDCS, TN, Lucky, PM, etc. would balance the commercial and the quality aspect of Salman's filmography.

Salman should have accepted Talaash instead of rejecting it and diverting Reema Kagti to Aamir. It was such a beautiful neo-noir and would have garnished Salman's filmography. Plus, with Salman, it would have done 100 crores minimum, so at the end - the movie would have fulfilled both commercial and the aesthetics of cinema.

His upcoming movies look good though - BB, PRDP, Shuddhi, and Shimit Amin's next. So, that's a step in the right direction.

Yep, he was. Both Farhan and Reema went personally to Salman's house to offer him Talaash. He told them that his fans don't want to see him in such a movie and instead advised Farhan/Reema to cast Aamir instead.

Complete LOL-worthy decision by Salman. On one hand he rejects a quality movie like Talaash, and then goes on to make a complete mockery of cinema--the overtly pretentious movie--like Jai Ho.
