Ranbir plays a thief in Roy - Shooting starts on 21 August in Malaysia

Ranbir Kapoor to be seen as a skilled art-thief in Roy. The shoot of the film to start from 21st August 2014.

Vikramjit Singh's Roy has been in news since a long time as the shoot of the film kept on getting delayed as Ranbir was busy completing his other assignments where as Jacqueline Fernandez got busy with Salman Khan's Kick. After waiting patiently for Ranbir's dates, the director is all set to begin shooting for his thriller Roy from 21st August 2014.

The film is going to be shot in Malaysia for a span of 20 days. As per a report by a leading daily, Ranbir has allotted bulk dates to Vikramjit as he does not want to delay the project further.

A source close to the development revealed to a leading daily-

"They will be leaving for Malaysia for a 20-day schedule where a majority of the portions with Ranbir will be shot. He has squeezed time between the schedules of Jagga Jasoos and Tamasha, which might now be moved to December or early next year."

When the source was asked about Ranbir Kapoor's role in the much awaited thriller, he added-

"He plays a skilled art-thief, it's an intriguing character, unlike anything he's attempted so far."

The director of the film Vikramjit confirmed the development to a leading daily by saying-

"Yes, we've got RK's combination dates in the last two weeks of August. A major chunk of the film will be completed in that schedule as we need to be ready for a February release."

Roy's producer Bhushan Kumar says, "We are starting the film's next schedule from August 10 and Ranbir will join us from August 25"

Ranbir is reportedly, required to shoot for at least 40-45 days as part of Roy's second and final schedules.

Roy stars Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez in pivotal roles and is all set to release on 13th February next year.

Don't think its a heist film. And Ranbir is only shooting for 10 days in Malaysia.
