While Ajay is definitely is up there in terms of star power lets not forget his recent films like Satyagrah, Himmatwala opened badly. In case of Singham2 he had the Singham brand in his favor along with a National holiday and solo release. Starpower comes into play when nothing is in favor and still the film goes on to do well.

Wow that great. This Rohit Shetty and his movies seriously do good business. Good for Ajay!

Satyagraha and Himmatwala both opened well but they did not sustain so there's no question of Ajay Devgan's star power...

Both these films scored less than Arjun's and Siddharth's last films. Thats seriously embarassing for a star who has been around for so long.

LOL Arjun and Siddharth also scored almost as much as Salman Khan's Jai Ho which was a crap film... and let's not forget that Himmatwala and Satyagraha were both crap films. That has nothing to do with Ajay Devgn's star-power...

Now thats what you call starpower. In a similar National holiday Salman would have done 35cr plus. Infact despite a National holiday Ajay's film might not beat D3 which was a non-holiday release.

Nobody's denying Salman is a bigger star than Ajay but don't forget that there was also a period when Salman was giving back to back disasters. It was only after Dabanng that he started giving consecutive blockbusters. Now Salman's the king of high-grossing masala movies and I doubt anyone will be able to replace him even though Ajay and Akshay are getting there. Their only problem is that they need to release one or two good masala movies a year and the BO collections for their films will be on-par with Salman's films.

I really didn't expect it to score around 30 crores...may be around 25..but 30 crores is seriously good and can be compared to the biggest openers of all time...joining the likes of CE,D3,ETT etc
