I dont see why anyone would think of even offering Kareena or Katrina this movie? The movie obviously needed a south Indian actress or atleast someone who was willing to WORK on appearing the SI part. Asin seems logical...Deepika too.

Kareena was not even suitable for CE. She doesn't look South Indian from any angle. Deepika fit Meenamma to the T.

What is the need to get this frustrated if director took someone else?

No one is bound to work with only her.
