The diarist was vastly amused to hear about this top star's fascination for the Rubik's Cube, a hangover from growing up in the Eighties no doubt. So it seems that each time a top international director hits town"be it Danny Boyle or Ang Lee"the gracious star invites them over for dinner to his home. But before the khaana and the peena is served, the esteemed guests are entertained by the star solving the Rubik's puzzle which he claims to finish in record time. Danny Boyle, we hear, was left somewhat erm puzzled when the said star whom he was hoping to work with at some point, would not leave the cube alone because he was not getting his timing right. We reckon the Slumdog... director would be happier to have the diminutive actor get his timing right only in front of the camera.
