The only thing I liked in Rockstar was Ranbir and Tum Ho. Not to mention I'd strike of a whole star coz of Nargis's intolerable acting

I liked all the songs especially Twist and Yeh Dooriyaan, Saif, Deepika, dialogues and ending of Love Aaj Kal. 😊

Ranbirs performance in Rockstar was better than Saif-Deepikas performance in LAK. LAK had better music and was more light hearted.
meh.

I think Rockstar was better for Ranbirs performance only.

People have different taste in music. What so shocking about that.

I do admit to sitting on a very high horse for music and I don't necessarily dislike nach gana songs. Chikini Chameli for instance or Nagda Sang Dhol is lovely to dance to. But there is something about Rockstar songs, especially a song like Tum Ho that literally touches the soul. Without being dramatic, it sure touched mine. The lyrics of Aur Ho. I am usually a cynical person, but those songs just made me sob in the theater. Mohit Chauhan's voice just flows over you. Soul stirring. That is what that music was for me after a very long time. The dichotomy of fame. the Shenai and the guitar. I just loved, loved, loved the music. The film was the music for me in many ways The difference between a Rockstar and LAK is literally Beethovan and Beiber for me.

I quite agree tastes are different, but the entire RockStar album is such a high mark in BW music. I do apologize if I come across as putting down people's taste. Music is very personal, I get that and I do not mean to put anyone down. Just that RockStar has certain songs that touched me after a long time at a time I consider music in BW to be dying and I rather foolishly assumed it touched everyone the same way .

Are you Eraser? Only she would talk so fondly of Rockstar. 😆

OT: Both bored me. Difficult to choose which is worse. Both very pretentious films.

Both looked so crap that I didn't bother watching either of them in cinemas

I watched LAK sooner tho. Rockstar I watched it on TV/. Both were terrible
LAK had a MINT music - Chartbuster album - Yeh Dooriyan, Aaj Din Chadeya Twist, Aahum Aahun and Chor Bazari
Rockstar had crap music. Honestly didn't get the hype surrounding it's album. Couldn't bare any song besides Naadan Parindey. Sadda Haq was overrated wannabe attempt of mainstream heavy metal from AR Rahman.

I liked rockstar esp the songs were just wow! Gave the movie such an awesome feel. Esp the phir se ud chala part was soothing for me at least.
But the cancer death thing felt a bit cliched.

LAK was stupid. That's all.

And why should we adjust our ears according to your taste? Everyone is talking about his/her preference. Learn to accept others opinion. Not all are gonna say the thing you feel is right.
