Rockstar's music has that everlasting quality, it stays with u (atleast for me), initially I only liked Phir se udd chala, but Tum ho, Aur ho, jo bhi main, kun faya kun slow grew on me I still get goosebumps listening to Aur ho .. though I agree Sadda Haq is overrated, the lyrics were really good.

OT: Both bored me. Difficult to choose which is worse. Both very pretentious films.

Nope, just someone brought up by parents who played soulful music all the time and A R Rehman songs from the time he appeared on the horizon..😆

I can still be tolerant and acceptable of others taste and consider something crap. Beiber is still crap, no matter the millions of records he has sold and will not stand the test of time is my opinion Yes, harsh but It is what it is.

I can point to the reviews and awards Rockstar won vs LAK. But that would defeat the purpose of this discussion. Music is what one feels, not what one is convinced to feel and if LAK appeals to you and Rockstar does not, that is what is superior to you. And I can still be shocked that LAK appeals to people over Rockstar,. That is the beauty of an opinion. 😉. Goes both ways.

It's quite crazy, I mean most ppl have only negative things to say about both films and yet Imtiaz Ali and his films are so hyped. I don't get it. He needs to come up with better scripts/screenplay.

I loved Ranbir's acting in Rockstar, he was amazing.. But the film almost bored me to death.. Throughout the film I wondered, like, why is this film so hyped? Had no patience to even finish it.

LAK had good songs, Yeh Dooriyan still gives me goosebumps.. and Chor Bazaari was superb.

So Rockstar is worse.

Both are horrible movies except they had few good songs.

LAK could not understand the story & what exactly the story was all about. The acting was also okay.

Saving grace of Rockstar was Ranbir's acting, otherwise the story & Nargis acting were bad. If only they had taken better actress maybe it could have made a bit better.

And why are you shoving Beiber to us? Who was advocating Beiber here?

To you Rockstar was Beethoven. Your opinion. To me Rockstar was K.L. Saigal (And that's not a compliment). My opinion.

We said LAK's songs (Not all) were comparatively better, we'd prefer listening Ajj Din Chadeya and Yeh Dooriyan than Rockstar's songs. At least we didn't insult Mozart/Schubert by calling some mediocre songs similar to Mozart/Schubert's work.

@ bold: Should I be shocked seeing your panties in a twist because three anons didn't like your Beethoven's work?

You love Rockstar's music fine but no need to shove your "superior" music tastes onto us. We're just fine with our mediocre tastes thank you.

Rockstar was kind of artsy and sorta unconventional,I usually like such films. But I didnt like Rockstar. It didnt make sense to me at all. Nargis was a bad choice. As much as I like her off-screen segments,I cannot bear her in films. Rockstar has scope for becoming much better, but there were several loose ends. And logic missing.
Love Aaj Kal I liked. Not loved, but yes, liked.

P.S : Rockstar's music was much better than LAK

A lot of things shock me in IF 😳
I have shown Hrithik movies to a lot of ethnically diverse friends and all of them have found him attractive, but some in IF find him ugly. Shocked. I always thought if you love movies, you would have gone to a theater once in your life. Come to find out today in another thread, people who love movies enough to make an ID on IF have never been to one. Shocked. I could name thing after thing that strikes at a few basic assumptions I have made.

As for music, I always assumed soulful music was what appealed the most. Rockstar has soulful music a lot and LAK does not except for one song. So yes, I am shocked that people prefer LAK over Rockstar because that goes against one of my basic assumptions.

For me, Rockstar and LAK are as chalk and cheese, Beethovan and Beiber yada yada. Allergories. Not saying A R Rehman is Beethovan. Now that would be an insult .

I never did set out to insult anyone's taste and I do apologize for coming across like that. But yes, it does shock me that LAK music appeals more than Rockstar to some people. Sorry, can't lie about that to be PC.
