Why was such a demi god out of work, broke and had debtors up his you know what, so much so he had to beg Yash chopra for work?

KBC saved Bachchan. Stop spinning it like anyone actually cared for Bachchan over his contemporaries. He was forced to work due to his personal circumstances while the others have been comfortably retired for a while.

Check the BO openers list I posted. Hindustan ki kasam and BMCM are among top openers of their time. How many supporting stints of Dharmendra in 90s got good opening?

Amitabh might have begged Yash Chopra for work but he made magic with it.

KBC and Amitabh are synonymous with each other. Only Amitabh's charisma made it the first non fiction daily show to top TRP charts. It is still most watched show of 2000s decade according to Indiantelevision.com. And we know what happened when other stars took over KBC. Many others tried to copy Amitabh but show like Jeeto chhapar phaad ke, Sawaal 10 crore ka etc just failed.

You can list films like Boom for Amitabh but not list of trash done by Dharmendra. He has nothing in old age except YPD films. Heck! Even his wife Hema gave hit Baghban with Amitabh in late age!

Amitabh won his first top star of the millennium poll when he was not even working and was yet to make comeback. He was doing ads for BPL, Mirinda Lime even in 90s when no other oldie was being signed for endorsements.

This is not spin. Amitabh's clear superiority over other oldies is a fact. He is the last person to need spin.
