Box Office: Salman Khan's Kick becomes Highest Opening Weekend Grosser

The Salman Khan - Jacqueline Fernandez starrer Kick that released on Friday opened to a thunderous start. While the film fast became the highest Opening Day grosser of the year, it also established another record of becoming the Highest Opening Weekend Grosser of 2014.

In this Box Office report, we take a look at the Opening Weekend collections of Kick as compared to the previous releases of 2014. Not surprisingly, the film that has been much talked about has emerged as the Highest Opening Weekend Grosser collecting Rs. 83.83 crores.

In fact, the film that generated quite a bit of hype has out-beaten Opening Weekend collections of previous releases of 2014 like Jai Ho that collected Rs. 60.68 crores, the Shraddha Kapoor - Sidharth Malhotra starrer Ek Villain that collected Rs. 50.70 crores, Gunday that collected Rs. 43.93 crores and others.

Kick grossed a huge 82 crore nett in its third weekend as the business on Sunday went to around 30 crore nett approx as per early estimates. The collections are simply outstanding for pre Eid as they came with some territories performing below expectations.

Nizam/Andhra and UP have been worst hit as both these sectors have under performed and these areas should see a good pick up from Tuesday onwards. East Punjab which has little Ramadan affect and Rajasthan are best. East Punjab set an all time record on Sunday as it had the highest collections ever for a single day. Rajasthan was close to record business with weekend business just 10 lakhs nett less than Dhoon 3.

Gujarat was phenomenal on Sunday showing 1 crore nett higher collections than Saturday. The film will have excellent collections on the weekdays and how big they will be depends on the jump on Tuesday and it has chances to go towards the Sunday collections or at least close to it.

Kick that release last Friday has been doing brisk business at the box office. Being a solo release, the film starring Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez, has enjoyed a stellar unopposed run.

In this box-office report, we compare the Opening Weekend collections of Kick to that of Salman Khan's previous releases. Kick that marked the directorial debut of producer Sajid Nadiadwala has turned out to be the Highest Opening Weekend grosser for Salman collecting Rs. 83.83 crores out-beating Salman Khan's previous releases like Jai Ho that collected Rs. 60.68 crores, Dabangg 2 that collected Rs. 65 crores,Ek Tha Tiger that collected Rs. 100.16 crores, Bodyguard that managed Rs. 88.75 crores and others.

With no releases lined up on coming Friday, Kick enjoys an extended run of two weeks. What's left to see now is whether Kick set a new all time collection record at the box office.

This is great. Kick did so well despite being Ramadan release and it's commendable. Last few days of Ramadan are important and people are busy praying. So this collection so far is too good.

But I am worried for Monday collection. I hope it gonna be above 20. What do you think @bila jee. How much will it do today?

we booked our tickets for kick. I am going with my family and friends and we will have a blast. Booked tickets for evening show Monday. And I am watching it on night too but alone 😆
