Well, i think Ash sucked in UJ..The movie itself was bland and Ash ruined it further and there was so much artificiality in her performance..Not a patch on Rekha..But thats just my opinion..We can agree to disagree..

but rekha's one is top mann..well deserved. some of her movies like ghar, mangalsutra, umrao jaan, khoobsurat, khoon bhari maang ( a must see) are gold. i hope they do a biopic on rekha's life one day. this woman had so many turbulences...unbelievable. and they should show how she transformed from being fat ugly duckling to a gorgeous woman.

Sonam might not be a Rekha, but had Katrina been doing this film, what a total turnaround would there have been in predicting the fate of this film.

Regarding Aishwarya in Umrao Jaan, if one sets prejudice aside, they can identify it as a very good performance. She is excellent in period movies, and this was no different. The movie wasn't bad either, yes long and gets boring in places, but generally that's how period dramas are, not saying it couldn't have been better, but saying it couldn't have been much different if it were made in the best possible way. And especially releasing it between Don and Dhoom 2 was the biggest mistake, the youth could never identify with it. They'd rather watch the modern fast paced cinema. Why, even the original Umrao Jaan was a flop.

Rekha's Umrao Jaan wasn't a Flop.

I'm a big Aish and Rekha fan. But Aishwarya was terrible in Umrao Jaan. She butchered the role..😆

Though some of the songs and Aish's dancing was good, but NOWHERE close to the Ravishing Rekha who absolutely owned that role. ⭐️

What's so great about Rekha -EVERYTHING is Great about Rekha! She's a complete package. I won't go in details to waste my time on you because you seem like a blind hater .. But FYI, Rekha is still considered as one of the BEST and most versatile actress ever in Bollywood. 👏

thnx..hey...don't know if you have seen rekha's mangalsutra or not, but that movie freaked me out. my granny have this movie on a vhs...old one..i checkd out this one ALONE, wrong move...don't even remember the actors name who played her possessed husband...but one gotta watch this one.

Umrao Jaan was so royally panned by media and critics.😆 Ash looked beautiful. But the film and performance were not a patch on original. The original won National awards and is a classic. New one is forgotten rubbish.
