I think he has a strong filmography considering that he is from a time when family dramas & action masalas ruled! I think he is a very versatile actor & will be a great director if he gets to that. I want to see him do more Talaash kind of roles than Dhoom at this point.

I listed Namak Haraam and Bunty aur Babli for versatility.

Even if you cut few from his list he still has top notch filmography.

Quality does not begin from IMDb only.

Ugly list? Sure. As if anybody gives a damn to Akele Hum Akele Tum or JJWS besides Aamir fans!

Bashing Bachchan can't change facts.

Just as there are BO lists, there are critical appreciation texts too for his films.

BTW, you need to look up Dilip Kumar and Ashok Kumar filmographies too. But either you won't or will bash films as ugly/routine stuff - going by your responses that is.

Not at all, Ashok Kumar is the big daddy. I'm positive his or Sanjeev Kumar's filmography can trump Aamir's but Bachchan, No!!

Bachchan's era was quite possibly the worst in Indian cinema. Even the 2010's might be better. Just senseless pot-boilers, action masala featuring the two superstars, AB & Dharmendra. Two parallel industries but both were doing the same stuff over and over. Sure, there's an abhimaan or a satyakam, but few and far between. Ab sr's second inning is much better. Again, this is all opinions, so I'm not upset. I just don't think many actors can match Aamir's versatile filmography.

Kamal Hassan is a no go for me, this is Bollywood related. Raj Kapoor? You might have a hard time getting past Andaz, Barsaat, Jan Pahchan, Awaara, Bewafa and a couple more.

I would love to see Sanjeev Kumar's filmography actually, like I mentioned above.

You want to talk about quality and Aamir's filmography comapring the crap he did in the 90s and the piece of stinking shit called Dhoom 3 with Raj Kapoor's filmography we can certainly try . Peekay could be his Ra One just saying..

I will do Raj Kapoor, Sridevi, Hemaji and Sanjeev Kumar though I do not know Sanjeev Kumar that much.

If you are going to just throw out films you do not like and include Andaaz Apne Apna as a classic while you may discount Mera Naam Joker then we may have to just disagree as of right now.

I am Indian descent from the US, and have personal anecdotal evidence of an old Russian man who could barely speak English, but when he saw me said 'India ?'and sang Mera Jhootha Hain Japane in broken Hindi. That is the power of Raj Kapoor to me.

If you want to sit on the Aamir is an all time best and be close minded then *shrug*

lol...fanaa and akele hum and akele tum 😆
simply put ...garbage.
the only respect i am going to give mr perfectionist, he takes a step back and lets others shine in his movie.
tzp and talaash.
otherwise...amit, srk, bhai, and many others are on par if not better. they have all done their shares of action, romance, comedy, dramas, ...and andaz apna apna - which qualifys as cult classic, wouldn't be complete without bhai. so what if there is no tzp and a lagaan, that doesn't mean they are any less.
lagaan making to oscars means nothing...i reckon if jis desh meh ganga behti hain made today, it would have made the oscars list as well.

@Bossman
Bachchan era was the worst? 🤣

YOUR OPINION ONLY.

Not mentioned anywhere else.

The films defined their era. Only Manmohan Desai films are potboilers. Others are not.

As for rest of your post, you really want to list out filmographies of other actors? You think it will be hard? Again YOUR OPINION ONLY. Not fact.

Aamir is best only among his contemporaries and "one" of the best if all time record in Indian cinema or just Bollywood alone are considered.

You think not many actors can match his filmography. From "any" you came to "not many" at least. It is just what "you think". Not facts.

Seriously ??

When Aamir has a film playing a dwarf (in the 80s), playing the Robin Williams role in the Mrs.Doubtfire remake, Chachi 420 in Hindi, a film where he plays 4 different roles as quadruplets (90s film Micheal Madana Kama Rajan) and 10 different distinct roles from different time periods (Dasavatharam 2000s) talk to me then not to talk about Nayagan and multiple films playing father son roles.

I already did Kamal's filmography in different genres in this thread. It is mostly in Tamil. Seriously 🤔. Having an opinion is great, ignorance...not so much.
