Sonu Nigam had recorded the number last year but wasn't informed that his voice has been replaced by Salman Khan because of T-Series. Salman Khan came into the picture only because Sonu Nigam and a few other singers had denied signing the contracts offered by T - Series. Sonu had also sung 'Galat Baat Hai' from the film 'Main Tera Hero' but T-Series honcho Bhushan Kumar had him replaced with Javed Ali and he also have been replaced by Arijit Singh and Mohit Chuahan in "Heropanti" and "Heartless: songs respectively." .
Mumbai Mirror was the first to break the news that SalmanKhan will be singing, Hangover, a romantic duet with Shreya Ghoshal, for Sajid Nadidawala's Kick. At the time, the song's composer, Manmeet of Meet Brothers, had said: "We were looking for a singer but couldn't find the perfect voice as the song has to be dubb again . This is when Salman stepped in and insisted he sing it himself."
However, we have now learnt that last year, on November 17, Sonu Nigam recorded Hangover with Shreya. Later, Sonu's portions were dubbed over by Salman, but Shreya's portions were retained.
Revealed a source close to the production, "Sajid had approached Sonu to sing the number. They didn't even discuss the remunerations as Sonu has sung several times in the past for Salman Khan's films. After the recording, Sajid messaged him saying that the track has turned out well and that he couldn't get the song out of his head. But, then, he was dropped and replaced by Salman due to issue with music label T-Series."
