Madhubala.
Deepika seems to have this uncanny resemblance with quite a few people in my eyes..for instance, somewhat with Esha Deol, a little bit with Aishwariya etc. She has nice face features but Madhubala's are just more extraordinary.

Both are beautiful, but Deepika is like a skyscraper while Madhubala is like the Taj Mahal.
Enduring, ethereal beauty wins. Madhubala.

Madhubala 7

If Deepika was born in the 1950's I bet people would be taking her name.

And Marilyn Monroe went from this to

being the gold standard of what people imagine a blond bombshell to be. Even now decades after her death people still remember her long after other people should have replaced her as the standard for the blond bombshell. It is about more than an era, it is about enduring. Deepika is beautiful, but is she an enduring beauty where people will single her out long after she leaves the spotlight and after death. Doubtful. Ash maybe.

That picture I used in reference to the comment which said they did not spend time on make up, which is a ridiculous statement. Because they were literally caked up in kilos of white make up.

Very nice that you bring this up. I had been itching to talk about this for a long time.

These people, be it Monroe or Madhubala, died at a very young age, in their 30's. This attracts sympathy from people and they are 'remembered'. Not just them, take Divya Bharti for example. She died at 19 (as her family claimed). But what was her actual contribution? A few shitty movies that's it. Or the latest case, Jiah Khan. No one even talked about her, let alone praise her. Suddenly we see threads calling her performances in Nishabd or Ghajini BRILLIANT. Why was this so called brilliance unacknowledged until her death? Because it was not really. It is people's emotions speaking, not their rational minds.

Madhubala was always iconic in every way. She doesn't get praised just out of sympathy of her untimely demise!

Madhubala was one of those women who might not have perfect features but had that grace & charm that made her a beauty. A very strong aura.Even without makeup Madhubala was a good looking woman.

Deepika might have good features but she lacks the charm & grace. Also she looks ordinary girl without makeup and her pictures not photoshop.

Even Aish has good features but again she lack that charm.

Now a days all the actresses photo's are photoshopped.

Madhubala is still being talked about after so many years. Don't see any of current actresses achieving that status.
