I have watched a few of Aishwarya's movies and since the last movie I watched of Ash ( Action Replayy) I tried to think back on her past performances and came to the following conclusion:

Aishwarya is a good actor but only with certain Directors e.g. SLB and Mani Ratnam

She is known more for her beauty than her acting. Before people jump on me for denouncing her career, have a read through of any of her introduction anywhere, be it International or national, she is mostly always introduced as "The Most Beautiful Woman", never as an actor. That's the thing that is highlighted the most. I guess when her brand was being packaged, her PR/talent management agency thought giving her this tag would differentiate her from others. I doubt they would have imagined (even in their wildest dreams) that this tag would overshadow all her other (hard) work.

Also, I don't find her that beautiful. She looks stunning in some places but not all. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder so others find her 'the most beautiful creature that ever walked this planet". I don't. She is good looking but not that good looking.

Ah that makes a lot of sense..And am one of the few who doesn't believe in the adage that beauty overshadows talent..Ash was always known for her beauty but that doesn't change the fact that she was a mediocre actress with an underwhelming filmography..Atleast for me 😆

Beauty doesn't overshadow talent always but it does give one advantages over others in the initial stages. After that, what sustains you is the talent and there are always exceptions to any rule😛. Still, a good looking person does get more chances than an average looking one even after multiple failures.

You don't have to make yourself look ugly or unkempt in a movie for people to notice your acting. You can look pretty and still have people rave about your acting. I'll use a South Korean actor as an example here; Son Yeh Jin in Alone in Love. She was only 21 when she did such a difficult role of a divorcee with mature outlook on life, baggage, loss and pain in her early 30s or 29-above. I find her to be really pretty but I have always ended up noticing her acting because she is just that good. I am going to pretend Personal Taste never happened😛 (they should have fired her stylist after that drama)

I love Aishwarya Rai. But I am more of a fan of her beauty.
But she is a TERRIBLE actress and was an average dancer in her earlier career. No, I don't find her good in HDDCS or Devdas.
However, You just can't insult her saying Katrina is bigger star than her.
Katrina won't reach Ash's heights ever.
Aishwarya is one of the most beautiful women in the world and one of the most popular ACTRESSES of Bollywood ever.

Even here I have only seen few people mainly her fans trying to make it seem like she is some sort of Icon and a celebrated actress
Other than that I dont think people rate her highly as an actor or star

Err no i din compare her with Katrina..I just mentioned how Ash was not exactly known for her star power either like say a Katrina who has a really good hit-flop ratio 😆

When we are talking about the A-list heroines,who is really talented?Very few.We either have blank expressionless faces like Katrina,Nargis or the atrociously OTT actresses like kareena(thought she has some brilliant performances too)Everyone is a mixed bag here!

A flawless performance in HDDCS,perfectly subdued and gave individuality to her two roles in her debut Iruvar,was BRILLIANT in Kandukondein and was bang on as Binodini in Chokher Bali.And Raincoat is one of the finest performances I saw from a A-list actress..she was OUTSTANDING.Show me one actress who could portray it so well!NO ONE.And Provoked?She made me cry.WHAT A MINDBLOWING PERFORMANCE!!Guru,raavan,taal,devdas were all award worthy!!And last but not the least-SHE WAS SIMPLY SCINTILLATING AND MESMERIZINGLY MAGNIFICENT IN GUZAARISH.

She is a complete package along with being a mindblowing dancer!!

She is a WAYYY better actress than the likes of madhuri,kareena,priyanka for sure.The only actress who I hold above Aishwarya is the mighty SRIDEVI.Another complete actress!
Ofcourse,the REAL TALENTS re the volcano of talents like Shabana Azmi,Tabu,Konkana etc Don't think our top actresses come any close to them.

She is the most popular actress of Indian cinema EVERRR.
