i find the idea of any female party member
of samajwadi party still supporting the group
and their sick recent statements
very wrong.

lol, the one who spreads poison around is writing and
asking someone else to 'speak up'...

why does Shobha De hv to write an open letter to
Jaya Bachchan?

killing two birds with one stone is she? her poison pen
aimed at an industrywallah about whom her barbs
keep her kitchen fires burning..thru her column,
and talking about social evils.

why wasnt the OPEN LETTER directed to The
Chief Minister ? jaya bachchan is in mumbai,
Chief Minister in where the crimes are taking place.

hmmm madam De? scared, are you?

has anyone read her novels...they hv random sex
scenes coming out everywhere...and its not to
educate either...more like titillation to sell her 'books'

Shobha De is just using this opportunity to gain
some brownie points...sorry...we abhor the violence
and sickness of the perpetrators and the idle ness
of the administrators, but let her tie her designer
saree in a knot and go face the piliticians in person

then we shall see

no mumbai mirror open letter shetter

I agree with Pakeezah, why choose Jaya?
Why not the man in question himself?
How come she never wrote anything to Mayawati or Akhilesh now?
It's easy to point fingers at soft target Ms De.

This lady's writing is never pleasing.

The reason this letter is addressed to Jaya is because during the Nirbhaya rape Jaya had made a passionate speech in the Rajya Sabha imploring the Congress to do something since they were in power in Delhi. The question now arises why isn't Jaya even making a statement against her party especially when the leaders of the party are making ridiculous statements like "boys will be boys". This rape is almost as heinous as the one in Delhi. Why the double standards and hypocrisy. As far as Shobha De is concerned what do her books - soft po*n or otherwise - have to do with her opinion? Just because she writes books that are in questionable taste does she give up her right to question the hypocrisy?

its high time people stop expecting from politicians...it will never happen...only the people can make the change happen because we care!!because for us its not about money or fame, we see it as it is!!

As celebs plus politicians these women have more voice than others. But sadly never use it when needed. Jaya prada and Hema Malini are also MPs from UP though from other parties but I did not see them commenting on state of affairs, registering a protest or something.

No one comments even when male members from parties make rubbish comments like boys will be boys, rape happens accidentally, rape is sometimes right sometimes wrong etc.!😡

Jaya Bachchan should have condemned the wrong statements, poor administration or resigned from party. But too drunk on power and glamour to actually take action as a woman!🤢

Hate Shobhaa De but this write up makes perfect sense.

Agree.

And by not doing so, these women are all cultivating a rape culture in the country.

They are going by the principle that as long as it doesn't affect their own people, it's okay. I wonder what they talk about when they go campaigning. And what do they promise. Will these women and ohers in position to do so, at least try?

Will everybody try to make things better, as human beings, and without thinking of benefits and baggags and tags?

Same here, to some extent.

She does make sense sometimes.
