Sonu Nigam was and is overrated. I never liked his voice, felt it was too boyish - whereas Arijit sounds mature. In terms of voice quality Arijit is def better.

However it will take some time before anyone can say Arijit is better, he has to prove his sustainability. We've had many singers who have come, been praised to skies and then suddenly they have no work, such as Himesh, Adnan Sami, Atif Aslam, Mohit Chahuan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan they all had their peak and then they slowed down- some of them barely sing anymore.

Anyway my main point is that Arijit will need to sustain himself in orders to be considered better than Sonu. Although IMO he already is

Lmao.. jealousy? 😆😆 Like I'm some sort of singer that would be jealous of him, I can't even properly sing in the shower. I just don't like the guy, plain and simple. 😛 He's a bad actor and a pretty average singer.

He can be 'versatile' and all that shit but he's not nearly as good as some of the other singers. 🥱 I'll take Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu and even Anu Malik over Sonu Nigham. He's very over-rated!!

FYI - not everyone puts Nigham on a pedestal and does his puja.

This is like choosing between your mom and dad or choosing between your kids.

Does talent have to be calibrated? Can it just not be?

Some people are thrashing today's music as if every song today are trash & every single song that came out in yesteryears were a classic piece.

Those comparisons are such a joke. I bet even Nigam will laugh at those. I hate all the things or 'harkate' that Nigam does to the songs. Pretty funny to see the fans think he's some icon of the century. Give me a break.

Sonu Nigam is far better than Arijit Singh, both in voice and talent. Arijit has a long way to go before he can be compared to the likes of Sonu, Kumar, Udit, Abhijeet and KK.

Having said that, it is ridiculous comparing Sonu Nigam to the great Rafi Saab and Kishore Da.

Sonu Nigam...Arijit is good but it will be long before he can claim to be called iconic..
