expectations are very low from the film regarding the Box office as Rustom seems to be more appealing, so i really hope critics love the film and appreciate Hrithik for his performance.

i think it will be the other way round it might open about par due to clash but will do enough at the BO On the other hand it might not be liked by the hardcore critics due to commercial nature or tweaking of the history

If the opening is good and audience likes the film, then not much will be affected, but if Rustom is extremely well made and liked by both Critics and audience then it would be better for MD to be a BO churner than that of being critically acclaimed. Also MD is the bigger film in terms of budget so i hope it gets at least 500 screens more than Rustom.

im still optimistic Rushtom wont do better than MD in terms of numbers unlike Dilwale vs BM where BM was the much higher grosser

both these movies have extended weekend but they have only 1 open week as HBJ will release next week...

if MD is entertaining (even if it's historical accuracy is questioned) then it can do decent business but if MD gets worst reviews then it's going to be tough...Rustom will put a solid fight (unless Akki-NP have come with a bad film) ...it's trailer was intriguing and Nanavati case (on which the movie is based) was interesting ...the music of MD is good whereas Rustom's music is forgettable...

feel MD will have higher opening...it's important it shows increase in numbers in extended weekend...

MD will get more screens with UTV banner...
