It was fertile for a long time but one of the theories for why the civilization ended so abruptly was rapid climate change (like an earthquake changing course of river resulting in drought) so you maybe right. It would be very dramatic to see. So little is known about the culture really that I think it's funny to hear people argue about historical accuracy - no one really knows. The people who look at "the dancing girl statue" and say Pooja is dressed wrong is like someone digging up the American Statue of Liberty thousands of years from now and deciding all Americans dressed like her all the time. 😆

'Mohenjo Daro' set in womb of time: Ashutosh Gowariker

Starring Hrithik Roshan and the newcomer Pooja Hegde, the movie is set in the ancient city of Mohenjo-daro in the era of the Indus Valley civilisation.

Gowariker took over three years to develop the film.

"Mohenjo Daro is not just another historical; it's pretty much even before history begins. It's literally going back in the womb of time. It's a world that I am most fascinated with -- who were the people, how did they live, what was the society like, are some of the questions which always intrigued me. I am thankful that I got this opportunity to explore that world through cinema," Gowariker said in a statement.

According to the new findings, based on the carbon dating conducted on animal remains and pottery fragments, the Indus Valley civilisation dates back to 8000 BC, making it one of the most ancient civilisations, he noted.

Also starring Kabir Bedi and Arunoday Singh, "Mohenjo Daro" will release on August 12.
