The odd couple

Farah Khan is full-on into pre-production work for her next directorial venture. Being a period film set in the 1970s, it requires a great deal of topographical and sartorial detailing.

Says Farah, "Everything, from the cars and bell-bottoms to the hair style and clothes, have to be worked out in full detail. Yup, pre-production is on. But the casting is yet to be completed. Deepika Padukone has been more-or-less finalised. We've told her she can tell the world that she's on."

Shah Rukh with Deepika Padukone will be a very unusual pair. "That's right," enthuses Farah. "Just like Sush and Shah Rukh in Main Hoon Na. It's always advisable to go for the unexpected."

So why has Farah decided to do a TV show at this crucial juncture in her pre-production work? "See, it's an ideal time for me to do something as diverting as this dance show. My shooting for Om Shanti Om starts mid-December. This dance show gets over by the end of October. Since I'm not shooting and only going into pre-production I'm adjusting my meetings according to the schedules for the dance show.
